App Store Feedback

Date Submitted: 1-3-2012 by GoDaddy Contributor  bb

Not what you're looking for?
We want your feedback!

We get lots of great feedback and questions in the reviews on the iOS App Store and the Android Market.

Unfortunately, we can’t respond there so we’ve collected the most representative of your questions, and answered them below. If you’ve got your own feedback, feel free to leave a comment here or start a thread in our forum. (Remember, if you’re having trouble, we have world-class phone and email support standing by.)

Email

Q: Does the Go Daddy Mobile App provide notifications when I received a new email?
A: Yes. On Android, you can change your settings by tapping the menu button on your phone, selecting account settings, and then checking Vibrate on new message. On iOS, tap the Account button on the top right, open your settings, and then tap Vibrate on new message.

Q: Does the Go Daddy Mobile App let you add a custom signature to the bottom of emails?
A: Yes. On Android, you can add your customer signature by tapping the menu button on your phone, selecting account settings and checking Auto-insert Signature. On iOS, tap the Account button on the top right, open your settings, and then tap Auto-Insert Signature.

Q: Can I create folders in my Email using the Go Daddy Mobile App?
A: Not at this time.

Q: Can I add multiple email accounts?
A: Yes. On Android, from the Account Settings screen, at the top right tap Change . On iOS, tap the Account button in the top-right corner (it looks like contact cards) and then tap Change in the window that displays. Remember to select Keep me logged in.

Q: Is there an easier way to purge the deleted messages?
A: We are working to have a purge function added to the Folders view for both Bulk Mail and Trash. In the meantime, you can select all messages by tapping the circle next to the Folder Name.

Q: Is there an easy way switch between email accounts?
A: From the message list screen, tap the Account icon in the upper-right corner account screen, and then tap Change. Your accounts display here. Remember, to save your information, you have to select Keep me logged in for each account you want saved.

Q: Where did the email forward button go?
A: If you tap Reply at the bottom of the screen, an option displays to either reply to or forward the message.

Q: Where did the buttons at the bottom of the inbox go?
A: The buttons you are looking for aren’t gone. They’re just hidden until a message is selected. After you tap on a message, you will see Reply, Move, Delete and more.

Q: Can I see the unread emails for each account in the account switching screen?
A: Please look for this feature in a future release.

Q: Why doesn’t the App return to the inbox after deleting a message?
A: We may include that preference in a future release. Alternatively, you can select a message from the inbox and delete the message using the trash can at the lower right.

Q: Why are the links in my emails inactive?
A: If an incoming email contains a hyperlink, it will display as an active link.

Q: How can I access my contacts from the Go Daddy App?
A: Click on the account button at the top-right of the App. From here you can access the contacts on your device. Alternately, you can click the plus symbol (+), to the right of the contact field, to add contacts from your email account or from your device.

Account Management

Q: Does the Go Daddy Mobile App integrate with Online File Folder® and Calendar?

A: Yes. On Android, you can access your Calendar from the Menu button when you are in the Go Daddy Mobile App. Tap Account Settings, and then tap Calendar. Online File Folder is coming in a future release. On iOS, you can access Calendar and Online File Folder by tapping Account, at the top-right corner of the message list screen.

Q: Why does the Go Daddy Mobile App on Android need additional permissions?
A: For the Go Daddy Mobile App to access the contacts on your phone, you must grant permissions to do so. We never use these permissions for marketing or otherwise. For more information, please see the App description in the Market.

Q: Why do I keep getting logged out of my account?
A: Be sure to select Keep me logged in when you enter your user name and password for each account where you want to remain logged in.

Q: Can I add new or alias domains to my hosting account?
A: You can add sub domains but not alias domains at this time.

Q: Can I mark renewal messages as “read” once viewed?
A: Sorry, but not at this time.

Q: Why isn’t voiceover control recognizing all items.
A: We apologize for any inconvenience caused and any unfavorable experience that may have occurred. We’re working to improve voiceover controls functionality with our iOS application. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.<

Domains

Q: Why is my domain search history deleted when the App closes?
A: This will be fixed in the next release.

Requested Features

Q: Why doesn’t the app auto-populate when adding contacts to email?
A: Thank you for the suggestion. This has been passed on to the appropriate parties for consideration.

Q: Why can’t I click a phone number in an email and have my phone call it automatically?
A: Thank you for the suggestion. This has been passed on to the appropriate parties for consideration.

Q: Is there a way to check stats for my website traffic?
A: We continue to expand our mobile functionality, and will add Mobile Site Analytics in a future release. In the meantime, Site Analytics is supported by iOS. You can access it through Safari®. In the address bar, type in yourdomain.com/stats to access the control panel, and then check your stats from anywhere.

Q: Can I pay with PayPal®?
A: This will be added in a future release.

It would be very nice if you offered a light version of the app. One made for an end user not the administrator. Just make it email calendar + Group calendar and file folders without advertising banners!!!

I am so glad to be able to use the app as I would the online webmail client (where it actually retains my sent emails). However, I wish it would show a visible notification when I get a new email. Being in an office environment, it’s not convenient to just have my phone vibrate every time I get an email through my GoDaddy-hosted account. A simple icon at the top of my phone and the notification light (green LED on my Motorola Droid Razr) would be AWESOME. Thanks!

I agree that it would be a very useful feature and we are exploring ways to accomplish that. Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as it might seem. Once we’ve got it ready, we will definitely make some noise about it!

I’d like an option to open the app with a password. That way I could save my e-mail sign in info and only have to enter a password one time upon iniating the app.
