Behold the Go Daddy APIs!

Date Submitted: 7-20-2012 by GoDaddy Expert  Rachel

Not what you're looking for?
We want your feedback!

We just launched brand-new Go Daddy APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) for two products: Easy Database for Websites and Go Daddy Cloud Servers™.

The Go Daddy APIs let you program many of the tasks you can perform in your Easy Database for Websites and Cloud Servers accounts. Each of these products has an API tab in its user interface that provides documentation and authentication keys.

Based on REST (Representational State Transfer) principles, our dynamic Web service makes it easy to navigate to resources and program tasks. Starting from a product’s base URL, you can authenticate and then navigate through the API resources in a Web browser (also known as the HTML view of the API) and know which options are available. You can pick which HTTP client (if any) and programming language you want to use to interact with the API.

As long as you are in the same Go Daddy shopper account, you can use the same authentication credentials for all products that leverage the Go Daddy API. For example, if you generate an API key and secret in your Easy Database for Websites account, it will display in your Go Daddy Cloud Servers account.

Need help troubleshooting? No problem! Send an email message to our experts at APISupport@GoDaddy.com.

Is this a part of the paid service?
    Where is the documentation?

  • by GoDaddy Expert Rachel on August 20th, 2012

@JamesKenny: Yes. You must have an Easy Database for Websites and/or Go Daddy Cloud Servers account to use the API. Both are paid products. In either product’s account, the documentation is available in the API tab. You can also find it here.
