Filtering Data in Easy Database for Websites

Date Submitted: 5-20-2011 by GoDaddy Expert  Leslie

Not what you're looking for?
We want your feedback!

We’re excited to announce new features in Easy Database for Websites.

You can now set filter parameters when you work with widgets. When someone views a data grid or search widget on your website, the information sorts and displays depending on the filter definitions you select.

Here’s what the new options look like in the widget editor:

In addition to the filtering feature, you can now include aggregation fields to add, average, count, or display minimum/maximum data from columns:

    I can’t seem to get the math filter to work. If I set the column in the table as a number field, and put in the filter show only those items greater than or equal to 10, it always says no items found.

    So apparently the greater than, less than, greater than or equal to, less than or qual to, don’t actually work.

    … sigh.. I was so excited to see this feature.. but it doesn’t work yet i guess.

    @hchandless-
    Thanks for your feedback. I went in to my test account and was able to apply filters without any issue. I set the data table column to specify a number field, and then apply the math filter to my widget. When I view my widget the filter is applied correctly.

    Can you give us more information on the issue you’re experiencing?

    Helpful for other stuff, but not quite what I’m looking for. I want to create a form on my website for the customer to enter in a number value from which a subsequent field uses for a calculation to come up with a sale price. Is that possible with this program?

    @spitvalve-
    Thanks for the post. Calculated forms are on the product roadmap for Easy Database for Websites. We’ll update the blog once this feature is released. Thanks again!
