Comments on: Go Daddy’s Position on SOPA

I am the Godady customer since 2009 and I have recommended the Godady services to many peoples but I will transfer all my domain and website ( about 100 domains and 20 websites) to another provider soon.
As the other people said : Not supporting SOPA is simply not enough!

I have been a Go Daddy customer since ’08. I will be changing my domain names over to a company that is OPPOSED to SOPA or any similar ridiculous piece of legislation when my domains are up for renewal. I have already purchased additional domain names elsewhere. Not supporting SOPA is simply not enough!

Sorry, but you only backed away from your stance because it was affecting your bottom line. That doesn’t change the fact that you fully supported this legislation. For that reason I am permanently severing all ties with Godaddy and moving to a registrar/host who fully opposed this legislation from the start. I have zero tolerance for any legislation or supporters of legislation that threatens to censor the internet, and I state that as someone who’s intellectual property is currently on the internet.

Already started purchasing domains through another company, moving sites and domains as soon as terms are up. Been with Godaddy for years now. Migrating is going to be a royal pain.

But one step back on Godaddy’s part does not line them up for a single step forward. Take a few MORE steps back, re-evaluate whether a neutral stance is acceptable after the beating we (will) received with GoDaddy’s hand guiding the houses that make up our government, then release another statement. $25+ a month now diverted somewhere else. I pay monthly, not in packages, so I pay more than the average GD customer, WAS doing so happily.

Backtracking once you realised how much business you were losing doesn’t fill me with confidence. I’m moving my domains elsewhere.

Sounds like you changed your support because you do not want to lose customers, not because you have changed your position on the subject. I have canceled my account and moving to a company that puts customers first, and telling everyone I know to do the same!

Unless you make specific actions to show you are against(not just a memo), I will move my domains away and encourge all my friends to do so.

I don´t think a position like that change from one day to another just like that.

Make a REAL public statement, loud enough congress hears it.

Most of us in the open source community are waiting till December 29 to see your next move.

Until you oppose SOPA we will continue to transfer domains away from GoDaddy.
