I just registered a domain name. Now what?

Not what you're looking for?
We want your feedback!

Domain name registration is one of the most important steps to creating an online presence, but what should you do next? Well, that all depends on your online goals. A list of popular online goals is listed below — In most cases, more than one will make sense for you and your company. Check them out:

Share Information: If you want customers to learn more about your business when they visit your domain name, then a website is the way to go. On your website you can list contact information, information about your services/products, testimonials, and much more! You can use Website Builder to publish your site quickly.

Contact Customers: Email is a must if you want a custom email address that your friends or customers can use to contact you. Gmail® and Hotmail® addresses are commonly used for personal email and aren’t professional. If you purchase a domain name like coolexample.com, you can have an email like myname@coolexample.com.

Sell Products and Services: If your business sells products, then an eCommerce site is exactly what you need. It lets you collect payments online, share information about your products and services, and track online orders. Just think of how many customers you can reach when you’re available online! Many customers use Quick Shopping Cart® to create their online stores.

Make Money: If you are interested in selling your domain name for a profit, Go Daddy Auctions® can make this possible. Many customers make a significant amount of money by “flipping” domain names. If you think you have something worth selling, give it a shot! You have nothing to lose. Click here to learn more about Go Daddy Auctions.

    Hello Good Afternoon,

I have a problem because I registered the domain resultadodobicho.com and the same is not available so I can configure it, he does not appear in this list of my domains. I found that the service Domains by Proxys this active in my field, but I can not adiministra it not in my menu nor in Godaddy Domains by Proxys. Where can I enter my domain to point to my dns server is in a datacenter?

I registered several domain names with you earlier this week. Then I paid WordPress.com $13 to move one of the domains to their site. What I needed to do instead was install WordPress.org software on my Godaddy host account and build my website from there. It looks like the domain has not been transferred to WordPress.com yet. What should I do now?

I am completely new at all of this. What is the best way to go when setting up domain names? I don’t want to over complicate this or end up with something lame.
I want 3 domain names, for 1 business with 3 different types of customers I want to attract.

I do not understand about back orders. I thought I had purchased themodelagency.com for a year, only to find it had expired in January 2013.

I have attempted to register two email accounts under this name and I find I cannot.

How do I make the account active?

What Is going on over there at GoDaddy???????……
I also have registered and paid for My Domain Name: “NORTHERNFOLK.COM
But, you guys have not sent me any kind of confirmation or even placed it within my account profile information…..
To confirm my identity and proof of ownership my details are as follows :
    AlanGriff Norfolk
    23 Cobby Street
    Birmingham Gardens
    Newcastle NSW
    Australia
    Ph: 0249555881
    My Listed Blogsite/website is : ‘alsreviewslounge.com/Public_html’
I mean how on earth do you think I have been able to sign into my account and use the page name as ‘AlanGriff’ ??????

Also my contact e-mail address is listed as ‘northernfolk@msn.com’, which is why I continued to use my northernfolk identity to set up this domain!…..
and also set up my hosting account under these same details?.

Please correct your errors on your system and get these details right and confirmed so I can begin building my site, as I have already paid you for this service!.
    Thank you
    AlanGriff Norfolk

HELP, Well, I have an online t-shirt store almost all ready to open. I purchased my domain name. How do I map it to my website? The company of which I will be retailing only has the following (which isn’t very clear). What am I supposed to do to comply? Domain Settings

    Existing store domains
If you prefer to establish an identity independent of DecoNetwork predefined domain names, or if you already have a registered domain name, you can use your own URL instead. You need to map your domain to ‘store.deconetwork.com’ (IP address 66.135.58.20) using a CNAME. Then add your domain name below.
Click View Help for more details.

Note: Depending on your domain provider, the change may take up to 48 hours to go live.

    Site Status Issue
fineartsrus.com [INVALID]\ Resolves to incorrect server (68.178.232.100 instead of 66.135.58.20 Revalidate or Remove

    fineartsrus.onlineshirtstores.com(Primary)

    Add domain
Enter domain in the format ‘www.mydomain.com’ without the ‘http://’ prefix.

    New domain http://

    Redirect to Primary Domain

I just received an email telling me I need to renew my domain. It follows:

Don’t miss out on this offer which includes search engine submission for THEWETACRE.COM for 12 months. There is no obligation to pay for this order unless you complete your payment by May 25, 2013. Our services provide submission and search engine ranking for domain owners. This offer for submission services is not required to renew your domain registration.
Failure to complete your search engine registration by May 25, 2013 may result in the cancellation of this order (making it difficult for your customers to locate you using search engines on the web).

This is a phishing scam! BEWARE!!!

I purchased my domain name last week. I was supposed to add /admin onto the end of it but didn’t realize it at the time. Can I change it or do I have to purchase another domain with that extension?

  • by janeqsale on June 6th, 2013

I just purchased a domain and want to start with the website design. On your website, it said:

“Everything you need to get online – FREE with your domain.

Each and every Go Daddy domain name comes with all you need to get online. The cost of your domain registration includes a one-page website, spam-free email account, photo album and more – all 100% FREE!”

However, it seems every step needs monthly fee. I cannot see my freebies. where are they?

  • by brakshere on June 11th, 2013
