Lightbox in WebSite Tonight
You can select a new option called Lightbox for displaying image collections in WebSite Tonight®. If you’re not a JavaScript Developer, you may wonder what it is. Lightbox is a JavaScript application used to magnify image collections in windows on top of webpages.
Unlike slideshows, clicking image collections displayed through Lightbox enlarges images and still displays webpages in the background. Check out the example below:

Cool! I have uploaded a templete and I see lightbox in the code. I wondered what that was.
I am attempting to use the litebox option for some photos on my website…..problem….set up is not a problem however when you double click on any of the photos in the litebox the open like they should but they open in back of the litebox (they look like background) and not in foreground or over the top of the other pictures in litebox, opposite what it should be…..any help is appreciated……note other pages are set up for slide slow option but i like the litebox option if I could get it to work properly……Thanks
I had the same problem and found there was a text box or some template box behind the inserted lightbox gallery. Once I moved it out from behind, the lightbox enlargement feature worked fine. BUT, I now have a box that I cannot remove from page. Any help removing this box, which only lets me resize it to move it, would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have that exact same problem. Too bad no one has written in to solve this yet!
I have set up to use light box and everythink is OK with the set up. However, my page has 4 or 5 different gallaries so when I click on an image thelightbox opens as expected but the ‘lightbox filmstrip’ on the main webpage is stayinh on top of the lightbox image. Also, it is not all the filmstrips that stay on top but most of them.
Can anybody help?
If you are using IE to view the webpage you can select compatibility view and the enlarged images will display properly in the fore ground. However that isn’t a good solution as it requires visitors to your site to recognize the page is not displaying properly and then also be aware of the compatibility view option. I tried viewing my web site light box using Chrome to see if it was just an IE problem but the enlarged photos displayed incorrectly in the background as well.
I am fairly new to this. Can someone tell me how to set up a lightbox?
I am using lightbox to display photos on my home page. I have the size customized to 900×600 and it worked fine. I went in to make changes to my site and litebox will not display the bottom half of the photos. I never had a chance to make any changes and no matter how many things I try it still won’t display the entire photo.
sherry – Did you have large or small image selected in your settings? Just wondering as I had the same issue. It was actually easily solved. My question though is does anyone know if it is possible to have captions view, or is it just titles? I have just completed a website for someone (a little help
) and the titles/caption has to contain not just the name of the artwork (yes artists gallery site) but a description of the painting as well. The title area is not large enough. I love lightbox, it works perfectly for this purpose, but I do need to see more info under the image. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Sorry – I should have said large or MEDIUM as the display under settings. That’s another thing… would be nice if it were possible to edit posts on this forum as one can do on all the others that I frequent.
hello, I am building my site and using lightbox for various pages. Problem is, even though I have cropped the images and made them extremely light, my pages are very heavy. When I go to check “File Size/Loading Info” my pages are either “are approaching the recommended maximum” or it says “files are too large. You should reduce or remove large images”. The table in this page shows that each image is inserted more times in different formats, even though I have just included each of them only once.. help!
