With Office 365, you can use a custom domain name with Exchange email, Lync instant messenger, and SharePoint sites. Manually updating your DNS records requires patience, solid instructions, and a sprinkling of propagation fairy dust. Now, if you want to configure your Office 365 account to use your GoDaddy domain name, the DNS setup wizard in Office 365 handles everything.
You simply enter your domain name, Office 365 checks to see if it’s registered with us, and then you log in to your GoDaddy account to verify registration. Next, you select which Office 365 products to integrate with the domain name (Exchange, Lync, or SharePoint), and then click Set up records. That’s it! The DNS setup wizard configures the records behind the scenes — and, from start to finish, the process takes less than a minute and a half!
