Why do I have to enter a code to continue sending email?
If you’re prompted to enter a code when you try to send a message using Workspace Webmail, it’s because of a protective measure we set up against spammers. We’re sorry if this caused any inconvenience. To continue emailing, just enter the code.
These codes, called CAPTCHAs, are series of numbers and letters partially obscured by shapes and colors. Once you correctly enter those numbers and letters, you can continue working with the application. The reasoning behind CAPTCHA is that a real person would easily be able to enter the code, while a program set up to send spam will not.
The CAPTCHA triggers when you send numerous emails within a short time period — typical behavior for spammers. However, the longer you use Workspace Webmail without violating its terms of use, the easier those restrictions become.
We sincerely hope this limitation won’t disrupt your workflow. We’re serious about stopping spam to protect our email systems for legitimate users like you. For the Wikipedia article about CAPTCHA, go here.
