caldev setup
stjm1025 said 2 years, 11 months ago:
I am trying to configure Mozilla Thunderbird 3.0.5 with Lightning 1.0b to work with caldev – since lightning doesn’t seem to have a user/password dialog box, does anyone know the format for the URL (described below for other provider). My thought is the URL must contain the published address and user name/password.

Unfortunately, our CalDAV implementation doesn’t work with Lightning yet. It’s one of our targets for future development though. Currently our system works with the apple clients (iCal, iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad). I will post back to this thread when we deploy a Lightning capable version.

PLEASE see if this can be fixed. I purchased your calandar service to do this… Using Imap with outlook is painful, and I’d really like to use Thunderbird/Lightning full time

I agree. I’d like to get this working with my Thunderbird setup. Just started using calendars. Getting this going would be a great help.

This is a deal-breaker for me. I was thinking about buying an iCalendar subscription, but if it won’t work with Lightning I’m going to have to find a different online calendar provider.

Hello Sam… Lightning support is on our roadmap. We have a few projects that are currently getting priority (performance improvements, interface enhancements, etc), but it’s definitely on our radar as something that we need to deliver.

@dcurrey68
At this time, we do not have any information on the timeline for this. We appreciate your interest, and will definitely keep this thread updated.

This is REALLY disappointing! Faced with the choice between changing my favourite email client or setting up with a Google calendar instead, it’s the latter which is the more attractive option. Please get this done!!!

rossit,
I agree. Thunderbird is a very popular client and with Lightening it is more useful. Being unable to sync with GoDaddy makes GoDaddy less appealing and much less useful. I strongly urge them to move this to the front burner.

Any news on getting Lightning working with Caldav?

Hi, I am having trouble adding users. These users never activated their accounts initially and so I deleted them and tried to re-add. When I re-add I get an error that “The supplied email address is already setup for a different account”. What do I do? I called the help and was on the phone for 1 hour yesterday and they told me to wait 24 hours after I deleted them and its been 48 hours and I still get the same error. Help!

@c3dibd
If you have created the email addresses in your account, go ahead an launch the Email Control Center, click on the address that it giving the error, click on the related products tab, then click OK. This will redirect you back to your email plans. Refresh the page after a minute or two, and when the status is active again, go ahead and attempt the setup again.
