I have linked my godaddy calendar to my google calendar via sharing the .ics address for the google calendar. when I try to update my godaddy calendar by clicking “Request data from source url”, it fails and there is no update. The only way I can update is to delete the google link and then recreate it. This is repeatable. My google calendar is not set to “Public” but according to Google the .ics link should work in that setting.

There is currently a known issue with the re-polling of subscribed calendars. A fix is slated to be released in the near future. This should resolve the issue that you are describing.
