I just got a go daddy account for a wordpress blog I created in Dreamweaver using MAMP. I’m trying to host the blog and transfer my files to Godaddy.

I’m kind of confused as to how I should go about this..

My host is jamesmoreira.com but when I type it in my server it doesn’t appear….how do I launch the actual site?

Also how do I launch my FTP address? In dreamweaver it asks me for my ftp address so I can transfer files but I’m not sure what mine is.

Please help , thank yuou

@James Moreira

First, you will want to make sure that your domain name is pointed to the IP address of your hosting account. Once you have confirmed this, you will be able to use the link below when entering in your FTP information into DreamWeaver.

im a little confused when you say is my domain name pointing address of my hosting account. I have a domain name and purchased hosting for it…what im confused about is i think that a domain name is different in theory than a hosting correct? and where do i go to point to this…

@david777

To connect the domain and hosting, you’ll want to point the domain’s A record to the IP address of your hosting account. Using the articles posted above, you will first want to locate the IP address of your hosting account. Once the IP address is located, you’ll need to update the domain’s A record to point to the hosting IP address.
