Virtual Dedicated Servers Down Again

These are going down again…intermittent. What the heck is up with GoDaddy connectivity? I’ve been using a VDS for a couple weeks now, and the reliability is terrible. I hope this is a rare occurrence, but I need feedback from other users to find out. The rep is telling me that there is a note about connectivity issues. If this keeps up, I will have to find a better solution. I guess a real dedicated server would be having the same problems right now according to the rep. Looks like if I stay with godaddy, I’m going to have to write an auto-notification to get a text message to manually fail over to a backup system. Anyone else have something like this to handle the flaky connectivity?

We are aware that some customers are experiencing connectivity issues with their Dedicated and Virtual Dedicated hosting environments. Some servers might be slow, other customers may not have access to FTP and their control panel, and their websites may be down. We know this is important to each every community member with a server account. This is a high priority issue we are actively working to resolve as quickly as possible.

This is ranking up there as one of the biggest blunders I have seen in a while.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to alternatives. Without an ETA and haivng been down since last Friday I’m not sure what else to do. Im afraid I fell victim to good advertising.

I have been with godaddy for 2 years in V D server. The connectivity problems have started from yesterday at 11:00 AM EDT and it is going. They send me notification that I have to re-provisioning all my server. that mean I will lose everything I have build last 2 weeks since last back up. Great! I heard these horror stories before about godaddy hosting service but I could not believe until it happened to me.

Your server had a malicious scanning process running on it and was executing a vulnerable version of ProFTPD, which allowed attackers to gain root level access to your server.

We stopped the malicious processes, but because the attackers gained root access we can no longer guarantee the integrity of your server.

To protect the integrity of our network, we disabled network services for your server.

Your server must be re-provisioned within 72 hours, and you must update your version of ProFTPD through Plesk. Keep in mind: Re-provisioning is the equivalent of reformatting your computer’s hard drive.

Remember, in accordance with our Terms of Service, you should perform patching and updates regularly to ensure your server is up-to-date. This helps prevent future compromises.

My previous response in regards to this matter was based on the information currently reported at the URL below:

I have also reviewed this with advanced support and server admins; who have verified the reported issues on this same page should be resolved at this time. As there is no active system alerts for our Virtual Dedicated Server or Dedicated Server accounts, we have no current reports brought to our attention to indicate further issues beyond account specific errors.

As I had indicated previously, if there are still connection issues currently with your account, they will need to be submitted to our Server Support team through the trouble ticket instructions previously provided. Once a ticket has been submitted, our Server Support Team can properly investigate and address any further issues within your account.
