I registered 2 domains recently, but now want to transfer them to Hazelhosting.
I’ve changed the nameservers and they now show up as NS1.HAZLEHOSTING.INFO
NS2.HAZLEHOSTING.INFO. I notice it says Transfer locked until 6/5/2012:
New domain registration. does this mean that the transfer won’t complete until then. If so how do I speed it up

regards Mairi

@mairi

You can update your nameservers to point to a different hosting provider at any time, and those changes can take up to 48 hours to fully propagate. However, if you recently registered the domains, you are unable to transfer the domain registration to a different provider until 60 days have passed.

Hope this helps!

@mairi – Keep in mind that pointing the nameservers and transferring a domain name are two completely different things.

When you register a domain name there is a 60 day hold… This means you can not move the actual registration to a different registrar. The registration would need to remain here, but you can point the domain wherever you would like.

The nameservers hold the settings for that domain, kinda like a computer “map” to your website. So you can keep the registration here and point the nameservers to another provider… meaning here is where you paid for the domain but the other provider is where you manage the DNS (that map I talked about earlier).

Thanks for that. I’m not transferring the domains and the changes were updated pretty quickly after all. Thanks for the responses
