I would like to let my domain expire. I have set them on manual renewal. Why am I getting reminders from Godaddy to renew them again?

If the domain is not set to renew, it will be dropped form the account. As for the reminders, they are in place regardless of the renewal setting to ensure that customers are aware of the status of the domain. You can eliminate these emails simply by canceling the domain from the account.
