Domain at Godaddy / Website on VPS elsewere

Hi everyone!
I have a domain name hosted at Godaddy.

I have a Virtual Private Server (Unmanaged) at another company.

Everyting is setup correctly on my VPS i can acess the website Using the VPS (unique) IP.

I have 1 dedicated IP.

I dont understand the nameserver part of domain name system :S Its look like i have no domain name system since i host a single website on a single machine with a single IP.

Anyone can help me find wich nameserver i should use?

I think i could use Godaddy DNS since they offert a DNS system…

This would be easier then hosting DNS on my VPS and buying an additionnal IP. What dou you think?

You can use us to host the DNS and just modify the domain’s A record so that it points to the IP address or your virtual server. The steps to manage the DNS can be found in the following link:

If you decide to host your own DNS on your server you would need to setup DNS service on the server along with a zone file for your domain. You can register your private hosts for your domain using the steps in the following link:

Thank you Steve. I will definitively use Godaddy DNS since i have 1 IP and i dont want to host my DNS myself for the moment.
