Domain name forward shows ip address

I have registered a domain name thu you (www.renuecomputers.com) and have it forwarded to my personal server at home. However when going to the site my browser shows my ipaddress instead. How do I have it show http://www.renuecomputers.com instead?
I do believe this is going to fall under forwarding masked. but looking in dns manager/nameservers I do not see any domain listed. How might I get this done?
Iam kinda new and not upto speed on managing sites so please bear with me. Thanx!

Generally, if you are trying to point your domain name to an IP address, the best option is to update the A Record for the domain name. This will cause your domain name to resolve directly to the IP address, instead of being redirected to it. Information on manaing the DNS settings for your domain name can be reviewed in this article:

I think my basic problem and confusion is that I do not see my domain listed in the domain manager. Therefore I cannot do very much. Whats up with that? Shouldnt it be listed if I registered it with you? Or perhaps this takes some time before it shows up?

Gary, What would I have to do with my A record to get it to show my domain name in browsers instead of my ip address? I did go in and cancel my forwarding to the ipaddress as you pointed out earlier that is not what I want to do. Can you provide an example or something on this issue?
Currently I have @ pointing to my ipaddress of my server. But Im pretty lost from here. ???
Thanks gary.

@coffee412 – Forwarding is a redirect. So visitors to yourdomain.com would be redirected to the IP address.
Pointing a domain name with an A record is the correct method to map the domain. So visitors to yourdomain.com would be at yourdomain.com
Host: @ Points to: (the IP address)
This sets the domain name to send requests to that IP address. The server would also need to be configured to accept requests for that domain.

Completed and done. Fixed the A record and cancelled forwarding. Things are working now. Thank you for taking the time to explain it too me. Makes sense now.
