domain transfer from 1and1 to godaddy

I began transfer process and unlocked domain at 1and1 succesfully. I then authorised the administrator email to confirm transfer. I then input the authorisation codes, and am now through to the 3rd step. It states on my godaddy control panel that:
‘Step 3: Accept/Decline
The transfer is waiting for the customer to accept it at the losing registrar. If the customer does not accept the transfer at the losing registrar within 5 days, the transfer will be accepted automatically.
The customer should accept the transfer.’
When I go onto my 1and1 control panel there is no way of doing this? And when I contacted 1and1 and asked how I do this they told me they are waiting for the domain transfer request from godaddy and then they will release the domain automatically, and that I do not need to do anything??
Is this correct? And how long can I expect this to take for my transfer to be complete?

When in this step of the transfer process, we would have automatically sent out the email to the registry who in turn contacts the loosing registrar to release the domain. If the loosing registrar does not respond within 5 days of them contacting the loosing registrar to release the domain, it will automatically be approved.
At this point I would recommend waiting the five days. But do be on the lookout from any notices from 1&1 as most registrars may ask you to verify release of the domain before proceeding.
If the transfer is not completed and you receive no notice from 1&1, you will want to contact our Live support so we can investigate this matter further.

I am also stuck in limbo land with 1&1. It’s frustrating when the losing registrar makes it so difficult.
