I just transfered my domain (meidenamerica.com) to godaddy and it lists that i am using the old company (Networksolutions) for my DNS. since the transfer went through i no longer have access to that dns and need to use godaddy’s DNS services. How do i go about enabling that service on my account? I dont need the advanced service the basic should be fine.

Got it figured out. I took a chance and i got lucky. I had to go to “set nameservers” and check “I have a hosting account with these domains” then i got control over them and all is right with the world.

@jbarden

Glad to hear you were able to resolve your problem. In the future, you can choose the option ‘ Change my transferring domain names to GoDaddy.com park nameservers.’ while purchasing the domain transfer to have the DNS automatically switched over to us once the transfer is completed.

Thanks for posting!

i have a question. Can someone help?… which is best and why:

1.) Always park my domain at GoDaddy.com
or
2.) DNS Control – Enter nameservers

The option you will choose will depend on where you would like to manage the domain’s DNS. If you would like to manage the domain’s DNS through us upon the completion of the transfer, you will want to park the domain. If you would like to manage the domain’s DNS through a 3rd party hosting provider upon completion of the transfer, you will want to enter the hosting provider’s nameservers.
