I have a site which has mysite.wetpaint.com I bought from GoDaddy mysite.com Wetpaint gives instructions here for forwarding http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/GoDaddy

I have followed the instructions but my site still showed mysite.wetpaint.com. GoDaddy support suggested forwarding with mask. This works for the HOME page but doesn’t add the pages. It should look like on this site which is a wetpaint site that doing this worked with – http://www.zombiesurvivalwiki.com/page/Community+Topics Anyone know what is wrong? Can offer suggestions?

@uzi,

Forwarding with masking will mask all pages accessed through the site with just the Domain name. From what I am understand you are wishing for it to show YouDomain.com/Page1 or YouDomain.com/Page2 and so on. Unfortunately, Forward with masking will only ever show yourdomain.com and not append the page name.

If you are wishing to have the actual page name showing you would either need to remove the masking all together and just Forward the Domain, or instead of forwarding simply Host the webpage for the Domain itself.

Hi Sherrod

Thanks for replying. I seem to just be going round in circles. The site http://www.zombiesurvivalwiki.com/page/The+Survival+Guide is a Wetpaint site exactly the same as mine but it is using a forwarded domain as I am trying to do but failing. The instructions on how to do it are shown here http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/GoDaddy but it just isn’t working & I cannot find out why. The only thing I can see different is at #9 after www. the ‘points to’ will not change from @ so is not the same as the instructions.

RESOLVED – the part at #9 was where the issue was. By removing the @ it allowed me to update it this time with my site name & immediately has changed my site to my new name AND with all the pages too. One happy customer.

@uzi,

Thank you for the follow up. That is good information to see, and I am sure will be helpful to others as well.
