I am hosting a webserver at my local residence and need to link my newly purchased domain to this server.

I am currently “forwarding” the domain to my ip address. is this secure? how can i mask my ip address?

am i doing it right?

If you are directing the domain to the IP address of the local server you have setup, then this would be correct.

Unfortunately, you cannot mask the IP your domain is directing to through the DNS settings of your domain.
