Problem redirecting domain names

I don’t know much about domains, hosting, etc., but I’ve gotten some help from an IT-knowledgeable friend. But we couldn’t accomplish something, so I need help.
I have three domains with GoDaddy: abc.com, abc.org, and abc.net.
I have abc.org and abc.net automatically go to abc.com.
My abc.com is a forum.
I have one domain with Microsoft: xyz.com
My xyz.com is a website with 6 pages.
I am contemplating transferring my xyz.com domain to GoDaddy, and having the xyz website be with GoDaddy.
That would mean that I would have 4 domains with GoDaddy. Three of them would go to the abc forum, one to the xyz website.
I tried an experiment.
I uploaded a copy of the xyz website to GoDaddy using FileZilla. Then I tried to take my abc.org domain and make it go to the xyz website just as a temporary experiment.
I can’t get my abc.org to do anything except go to abc.com.
Why can’t I do this? Or how can I do it?

@wvanfleet
Are you forwarding your domain using the Forwarding option in the Domain Manager or is abc.org setup as an alias on your hosting account? It sounds like you would just want to forward abc.org to xyz.com. Check out the info at the link below for assistance with setting that up.

If you’re still stuck, provide us with the actual domains and we may be able to help a bit more.

Yes, I overlooked what I should have seen. I did not remove the forwarding of abc.org to abc.com, and therefore it wouldn’t work. I discovered this shortly after my post on this discussion board. I think my experiment will work now, when I stop the forwarding. Then my assignment of abc.org to the uploaded website may work. I will probably wait for my IT friend to accompany me on that experiment, but I will let you know whether it works or not. Thank you for your help.

BTW, I don’t want to simply have abc.org forward to xyz.com, because that xyz website will be disappearing, since Microsoft is making it either have to be upgraded or have to expire. So I am trying to move the website to GoDaddy, and have xyz.com (transferred to GoDaddy) point to it on GoDaddy, as opposed to pointing to it on Microsoft. I was just trying to see if I could have a domain (abc.org) accurately point to xyz website that had been uploaded to GoDaddy. If I were an IT person, I gather I should already be confident about this and not feel inclined to go gradually and experiment. The domain name (abc.org) would not be a suitable name to take someone to xyz website, whereas the domain name (xyz.com) would be just right for the xyz website.

The problem above was solved. But I am still having difficulties. My xyz,com domain that I want to transfer to GoDaddy is privately registered with MelbourneIT, and so far I can’t see how I can get it transferred.
Also, I bought two domains from GoDaddy, xyz.net and .org. I am trying to redirect xyz.net to xyz on GoDaddy, just like abc.org goes to xyz on GoDaddy, but I get the message that GoDaddy has parked its page there, so the domain won’t work. Maybe it is because they have not confirmed payment yet.

@wvanfleet
You will need to get in touch with your current registrar for assistance with removing the private registration from the domain name. Once the private registration is removed, you can use this article to re-initiate the transfer:
How do I resend the transfer IDs to my updated admin email address?
It sounds like the other domain is not forwarding properly because the domain’s A record is not pointing to our forwarding IP address. You’ll want to check out this article:
