subdomain to point to subdirectory

I’m trying to make a subdomain that points to a subdirectory on my server of the same tld.

I was trying to create a CNAME entry drkae.dragonback.com and make it point to dragonback.com/drwp (or /drkae if it needs to be the same)

I’ve tried forwarding but it doesn’t quite do what I want it to do, which is to display drkae.dragonback.com/etcetc and not the subdirectory structure, and the masking option glitches in that it doesn’t un-mask when you click a link, even one pointing off-site, making bookmarking impossible.

Both my web hosting and domain are with Godaddy.

It sounds like you need to add the Sub Domain on the Hosting plan. Also, when setting up the Sub-Domain in the DNS this would be accomplish by creating an A Record pointing to the Hosting IP, not by creating a CNAME. The following should assist:
