Hi,

I have recently purchased a domain transfer for a domain which was previously with WebHostingPad. The domain transfer says it is stuck and asks me to check the administrative contact for Web Hosting Pad, but there is none specified. The current contact is the default WebHostingPad address, which is were GoDaddy sent the initial email, but apparently it is not responding.

What can I do to update the registrar as quickly as possible?

Thanks for your help!

@newertown,

You would need to update the email address with your current registrar, and allow for time for the WHOIS information to be updated in a public WHOIS search. Once you see the updated information, you should be able to resend the transfer instructions and information.

How do I change my admin email address at my current registrar?

Hope that helps.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your reply. I’m trying to do just that, but it’s turning out more complicated than I expected. I had the website hosted with WebHostingPad, and apparently they use Enom as a registrar service. Now on Whois, it says that Enom is the Registrar. What’s the difference between the Registry and the Registrar part of the Whois database. Does it mean that I still own the site or that it’s been taken over by Enom? I’m doing this only a couple days after the registration expired, but is that a problem?

Many thanks for your help!

Every domain is registered from the Registry. As individuals cannot go directly to them, you must get the domain from a Registrar, such as Go daddy and Enom. You will be the registrant of the domain, however you will need to contact them and use your information to access the domain and make the appropriate updates.

Thanks Jason. I got the issue resolved now. Problem was that the domain had to be active in order to change the information on the WhoIs database and get the EPP key. So I had to pay for one year via WebHostingPad, log onto the account at Enom and change the information. I’m in the process of transferring it to GoDaddy now, so if all goes well, all my domains will be with the same registrar, which is far more convenient. Thanks again for your help.
