It seems I cannot receive emails to my new email box. I can send emails from the webmail client – but receive failure errors when I send mail to my new email account (e.g. sending from my Gmail):

“Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 #5.1.0″

I don’t know what can be wrong. Any ideas?

Hi,

Was this issue resolved as I seem to be facing the same problem while trying send emails (from gmail or other service providers) to my new emailbox created at godaddy?
@Peter, I read the forum that you have mentioned but I’m not having the same problem as in the forum.
I have bought the domain name, web-hosting and email hosting all from godaddy. So I should not be facing the MX records issue.

Hi,
Yes I received info from GoDaddy helpdesk for resolving this problem. My domain is registered in DNS servers in Europe – so some data had to be modified. Note, that I am not sure this will work for you:

You will need to update the MX Records for the domain. The records you need to change are:

Priority 0 – smtp.secureserver.net to smtp.europe.secureserver.net
Priority 10 – mailstore1.secureserver.net to mailstore1.europe.secureserver.net

To modify the MX record information on your domain:
1. Click on ‘Domain Manager’ from the ‘My Products’ section.
2. Click on the domain name you wish to make the modifications for.
3. Click ‘Total DNS Control and MX Records’.
4. Click ‘Add New MX Record’
5. Input the information and click ‘OK’.
6. Delete any un-needed MX records by clicking the box marked with the ‘X’ to the right of each record.

@Sanjeev,

I believe olafuring’s recommendation will work for you. Based on the error you have included, this is normally an issue with the MX Records pointing to a different email server that we provide. If you continue having issues, contact Support to make sure that your account is setup properly. Thanks!

The following article can be used to verify and modify the MX records as needed. More than likely, the region that your addresses is setup in does not match the MX records you have set. If changes are required, please allow up to 48 hours for DNS changes to propagate.

@yicong,

You may want to make sure that you are using the correct MX records for your domain if you are unable to receive.

Checking Your MX Record Settings in the Email Control Center

Hope that helps.
