Can’t receive e-mails on iPhone

Checked settings 100 times. Can send fine. Super annoying.

@utmike,
You mention that the issues are just with receiving messages through the iPhone device. Have you checked that the email address itself is actually receiving at all through other clients, such as our web mail interface?
If it’s not receiving via your web mail interface, this indicates your domain may not be using the proper MX records required for your email account to function. In which case, you will want to refer to the information provided in the following article to review and correct these settings:

It says my MX settings are correct. If it affects your analysis at all, I have my Outlook client set up, and it receives the e-mails fine. I just can’t get my iphone to receive.

Chris, Ive had a similar issue. This just began to occur this weekend. iPhone and Mac Mail both were saying the user name or password was incorrect (though they have been operating normally for month). Removed and readied accounts. Issue persists. Reset password allows me to received email but smtp server appears stuck on my old password. On the iPhone entering the new password under the imap server checks correctly. Entering the new password in the smtp server says an incorrect password, however when the OLD password is entered it appears to take it though it still cannot send mail. So two issues, SSL is no longer functioning on either imap or smtp servers via both iPhone and Mac Mail. And smtp server cannot send mail via SSL or non SSL (tried ports 25,80, and 465).
Thanks

@utmike, @jryandrum,
The issues you have both described sound similar to another thread I have just recently addressed at the URL below:

I read the posted response and have followed the necessary steps. The issue resolved for the incoming server, but the outgoing still prompts for my old password for some reason (occurs on multiple devices). Ive emailed support but haven’t received a response yet. Any thoughts on the smtp out requiring the old password?

@jryandrum,
When you enabled SMTP relays for the address originally, did you manually enter the same login information for your email address?
If you do not specify a login this should automatically assign your address login as the default for SMTP, and sync with your address should you need to reset it. Since your device is already accepting the old password, let’s try removing the SMTP relay service from the address in question. I would also recommend another password reset before re-enabling SMTP relays for the account. This should reset the relay service and re-sync the login to your email login.
Both the password reset and disabling of the SMTP relays can be done from within the Email Control Center interface:

Chris, thanks for the reply. That seems to have done the trick. SSL still doesn’t appear to function, but I don’t use it for the most part. This occurred on both iPhone and Mac Mail. Any thoughts on the function of SSL for both ingoing and outgoing servers? Currently it is functioning however using 143 for imap and 80 for smtp (had trouble with 25 with isp).
Thanks

@jryandrum,
Honestly, I am not sure what would specifically block access through the SSL port as this could be cause a number of different factors outside of our control to investigate. If a connection through a specific port is not working, the issue could either be something within your local system or specific block by the ISP like you found with port 25.
Unfortunately I am not familiar with specific port tests you could run through your mobile device (aside from setting them in your email client), but you could try running a telnet from your local system where you encountered similar issues with Apple Mail. This test would at least confirm if the port connection is being allowed between your system and ISP:
