Hi,

I can’t send an email using smtpout.secureserver.net. I’m from the Philippines. Below is the error encountered:

“Send test e-mail message: The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).”

Regards,
David

BTW,

I integrated my secureserver.net account to MS Outlook 2007. The receive is ok but the outgoing (sending) is not working. Please help. Thank you

@davidreyes

If you are having trouble sending emails through SMTP, you may want to try sending through an alternate port. This article explains some common trouble shooting steps as well as the alternate ports you can attempt to send the emails through.

I have been having the same issues lately using Windows Live Mail as a client. I have two email accounts through GoDaddy and neither are able to send mail, only receive. I did read instructions and try changing the ports and the 80 and 3535 do not work either.

I just attempted a test message from my iphone and it also failed to sent. This tells me it’s not my email client that is the problem. What’s odd is it all worked a few days ago and now nothing…

I often have to use my local internet provider (Cox Communications for me) setting for my outbound server instead of smtpout.secureserver.net. Make sure all your other settings are correct too :) Good Luck

@Gary A

Hi,

I have tried Step 1 and Step 2 and it’s okay.

But on Step 3, when I try different ports (3535 or 25) I test send and receive function and a modal MessageBox appears on my screen (Enter Network Password) and everytime I click OK it pop ups again.

Nothing happens and Still I weren’t able to send an email using my Outlook 2007. Please advise. Thanks.

David

@eslucky

Hi,

Below are my settings:

Incoming Mail Server: pop.secureserver.net
Outgoing Mail Server(SMTP): smtpout.secureserver.net
Outgoing Server SMTP Port : 80

My outgoing server requires authentication: true
– use same settings as my incoming mail server

Regards,
David

@oreo

Have you tried enabling SSL on your outgoing settings and using port 465 for your outgoing mail? Depending on your ISP, this may resolve the issue you are encountering. You can also try what @eslucky suggested, as some ISP have special email servers that you can send email through. You may want to contact your ISP to see if this is something that they offer.

@davidreyes

As you have stated you are in the Philippines, you may have an AP region email plan. If you do, you will want to ensure that you are using the appropriate outgoing server. You can log into http://x.co/infocenter/ with your email address and password, and this page will list the correct servers for your to use.

The “Enter Network Password” prompt is generally caused by a profile issue in Outlook. Microsoft has provided the following article for assistance with trouble shooting the error:

@Gary A

Hi,

Thanks! It works now. I have used pop.asia.secureserver.net and smtpout.asia.secureserver.net for the Incoming and Outgoing respectively.

One more thing gary, how could I retain my emails from my workspace web? Coz right now all my mails in my inbox was transferred to my Outlook Client. I want my outlook client to have a copy of my email and not to move my mails from my inbox. Thanks.

David

@davidreyes,

Good to hear that the servers corrected that.

Regarding the messages leaving the inbox, this is typically do to a setting within the client. Specifically to Leave a message on the Server. The following should help correct that:

@Sherrod

Hi,

I have tested and it leaves a copy in the server now. Thanks for the support.

SOLVED:

It appears that we need to change settings under MORE SETTINGS/ADVANCED tab in the outlook Account Settings. The only thing that worked for me was removing encryption from both incoming and outgoing ports, and changing the port numbers as follows: Incoming: 110; Outgoing: either 80, 25, or 3535. I can no longer use ports 995, 993, 587 or 465 for my incoming/outgoing ports and I can no longer successfully select SSL encrypting for either.
