Email forwarding not working with some addresses
jeffwirth said 1 year, 4 months ago:
I have had three email addresses set up under email forwarding. I recently added a fourth address, but when I sent a test email to it, the test email did not forwawrd. I have checked the MX records for each of the addresses and those are all good.
The issue may be that the forwarding plan that all of these addresses are listed under says “Email forwarding – 100 pack – expires 01/03/2011″, however I added one of the addresses (that currently works) in October 2011, and there is another address that was added a long time ago that is still working, so I don’t know why that would be an issue.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Are you testing the forwarding address from Gmail? If your forwarding address forwards to a Gmail account, and you send a test message from the Gmail address that it forwards to, Google will view that as looping, and not deliver it. Test it from any other address, then let us know.

Hello Jason,
Thank you for the clarification. I tried testing from a different email account than my Gmail and it worked for all the addresses. The curious thing is that I was able to do a successful test from Gmail with two of the addresses, but the important thing is that I now know that all of the forwarding addresses are working. I appreciate your very prompt help.

It is odd that some did work. What makes it tough is that there is no bounce ever delivered. You can be assured however that this will not happen with any other Gmail addresses.
Glad it’s working, and if you encounter any additional challenges, please do not hesitate to post.

Personally, I’m curious as to what the expiration date means for the free email forwarding (100 pack). I was a little confused by this.

All of the products in the accounts must have expiration dates associated with them. More than likely, your credits were provided with the purchase of a qualified product, like a domains or hosting. As long as the associated product is in active status, you will have the free credits, regardless of expiration.
