Emails disappear from my Inbox!

Someone please help!
I had over 500 emails in my inbox, I never deleted them and I have unlimited space! and all of a sudden the emails started to disappear! A couple of days ago there were only 22 emails, and now there are only 8 emails in my inbox! I’m sure no one has my password, and I’m the only one authorized to get into this account and I did not delete those emails! Where did they go and how can I retrieve them?

You’ll first want to check any email clients you may have setup with the email address to ensure the email address is setup as an IMAP account. If the email address is setup as IMAP, you won’t have to worry about the email client removing the emails from our server.
“Setting up Your Email Address with IMAP”
Secondly, you’ll want to ensure that your email folders are not setup for auto purge.
“Creating and Managing Folders in Workspace Email”
If you need any of the missing emails, you’ll want to get in touch with our 24 hour support team through http://support.godaddy.com/support so we can get the emails restored.

My emails keep dissappearing too, they just don’t stay in the Inbox. I have this trouble with only 2 emails accounts of the 4 set up under my domain. I just cannot figure out what the problem is? I run a business and it is important to have email history in the inbox. Please help!

wish it was as simple as adamr indicates.
i used to use hosted email only for web client and popaccess. recently changed to imap. so far so good.
got a new smart phone and set that up as imap. messages dissapeared (only old messages out of the inbox) – gone. not in deleted items or anywhere else.
since I had just converted i had a pst file with all the old mails in it. I restored them from that. a few days later (can’t say exactly when since they are active archive items that i don’t refer to regularly , but i suddenly noticed th eslider bar was much longer (fewer items in the box)
so then I deleted the imap account off the phone and set it up as pop. the same things has happened.
lots of postings on the web about this.
godaddy tech support says there is no way their system could cause it. (in web client if you right click on a folder and check auto purge there is a function in their system which I don’t recall ever hearing about. when i found this online i went in and checked and it was apparently default set to never.)
godaddy tech support says it has to be something else “popping them off” it happened when it was set up with imap – they couldn’t explain that. they say there are numerous other settings in pop (that would explain auto purge) but say they can’t tell me what exactly or where I would find them.
i think they have an issue.

I need to have all my emails available and showing from all 3 sites: outlook, web based and I-phone. any suggestions? thank you

If you have the effected email address setup as a POP3 account within any email clients/mobile phones, you’ll want to make sure that the account is setup to leave a copy on the server.
“Leaving Messages on the Server When Using an Email Client”
If you’re absolutely certain that you no longer have any email clients/mobile phones setup as POP3 with the effected email address, you may want to contact our 24 hour support team through http://support.godaddy.com/support and ask them to re-sync the email address.

I have had the same problem. Several emails disappeared after I replied to them, and now I have had a single email disappear from everything/everywhere after I read it.
I only access my email thru a web interface, do not access it via a phone, do not use outlook, and after asking me all their questions, they say “Sorry, we don’t have any more suggestions for you.” It’s frustrating. For those other folks who had Go Daddy loose email for no reason, what did you end up doing? Did the problem ever get solved?

The ways an email is removed from Web-Based Email are: the email is manually purged, auto-purged, or downloaded by an email client. Our email system will not automatically delete any emails if the ‘auto-purge’ setting is not enabled.
One thing I’ve seen in the past is customers accidentally deleting emails by hitting the ‘backspace’ button. The ‘backspace’ button is a keyboard shortcut to delete emails in Web-Based Email. You’ll want to make sure that you aren’t accidentally deleting emails by hitting the ‘backspace’ key.

This happened to us, too. I had surgery three weeks ago, so I had not checked my email in three weeks. I have been expecting communication from one of my retailers (I am a wholesale manufacturer) due to her owing me for product, and when I logged in today, there were NONE of the emails from her or my suppliers. I have now lost all of this important information and am seriously thinking of going with someone other than GODADDY in the future. I cannot afford to lose these emails and contacts. I am very upset about this.

You’ll want to use the suggestions above to sort out the issue. If the emails were not received, they would have been bounced back to the sender.

I use Outlook 2010 with an IMAP account on GoDaddy. I also access the account with the standard Android (4.0.2) email client via IMAP. No other clients are set up to use this account. On Outlook my INBOX will come up empty sometimes even though there are 500+ emails in the box. Then if I do something goofy like send myself an email and restart Outlook – bingo my emails will appear again! From the other stuff in the thread this sounds like a GoDaddy email hosting issue. How do we resolve it?? Sometimes it happens 3 times a day, other times I can go weeks without it appearing.

@Jack in Georgi
If the emails are only randomly disappearing from one of your email clients, you may want to try re-installing the software or try re-setting up the email profile within Outlook. If the issue persists, you’ll want to get in touch with our 24 hour support team so our tech guys can review your email address specifically.
