Emails to certain people not getting through

We have one client who is not receiving our emails. If I log into the godaddy webmail we can send the emails and they go through but from outlook they do not go through. Everyone elses email is fine just one certain company. I have uninstalled my firewalls and spam programs. Any ideas?

Do you have any links or anything that the recipient server might be filtering, say in a signature, that isn’t in the Web-Based Email setup? A lot of times companies filter links or other potential spam related items for their users automatically. I’d compare the two and if you have a signature in your Outlook then try without that.
Otherwise it might be an issue with your IP address or something to that effect being blocked by the recipient server.
Normally these servers will send a bounceback, when connecting to the recipient we wait for the email to be either accepted or bounced. So if you’re not receiving a bounceback then the email is being accepted by the recipient.

I tried sending a simple test email with no signature and it still did not get through. I spoke with the other company and they said there is nothing hitting there server. The other company was blacklisted at one point but they have that taken care of and mxtoolbox shows it being ok. Not sure what else to try.

Do you not get any kind of bounceback? If you do, we would like to see that. Otherwise, I’m not sure what else to tell you with this one to be honest. Our server is designed to maintain the ‘handshake’ that’s made when the servers exchange the email until a response is given, either accepted or rejected. This is even more difficult because it is only coming from Outlook. You could try removing the account completely from Outlook and setting it back up fresh, it could be a setting issue but it is extremely unlikely since it’s just one domain.
If it works in Web-Based Email we know that we are getting to their server, it’s a question of what’s happening from there.
If you have a bounceback please let us know!

Sorry, no bounce back message at all. It’s happening on multiple computers with Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird but only to this one client. I tried stopping the firewall service and I removed Norton 360. If I use Windows Mail that has a pop3 account with my home internet provider the message gets through just fine. The problem is with any of our godaddy email accounts via pop3. What gives?

Can you verify what email server you’re using in your outgoing settings? I was reviewing this with our advanced support team and that’s something that could help us figure out what might be going on here.

I’m using smtpout.secureserver.net, port 80, no SSL. I also tried port 3535. Thanks

I’ve reviewed this further with our advanced support teams. We’d like you to contact our Support Team so we can get some examples of the emails that aren’t going through to them. That’s going to be the best way we can see exactly what might be causing this. We appreciate your patience in regard to this matter.

I am having this exact same issue and its been going on for 2-3 months and I didnt know it. I almost lost a good contact because of this. It is happening to Verizon, Earthlink and poss. a godaddy email account as well. I am using my outlook changed the port settings as well and today I sent an email after logging into godaddy account and 2 out of the 4 have received it. I’m lost on how to fix this

@bferraro
Can you please elaborate on how you tested this email? Was it sent from Outlook, or the web based interface?
Thank you,
Jason

I have replied to emails and sent email with and without attachements to contacts and some do not get mine. once it was detrimined that I new 3 -4 contacts were not receiving emails I sent them emails from both Outlook and thru my online godaddy email and they only received the godaddy email not from the outlook.

It is good that we can narrow it down tp the client. You might try changing the port that you are using for the SMTP server. 25, 80, and 3535 can be used. Also, if you are using and virus software, make sure that Outlook is within your allowed list of applications.
Hope this helps,
Jason

I am currently using 3535 and I have tried both 8- and 25 and neither work – they both come up with errors and nothing goes in or out — 3535 is not sending emaails to all

@bferraro
You may want to verify with your ISP that they do not require you to use their SMTP servers to send mail. This is a common practice, and will have no affect on your email.
Keep us posted,
Jason

Hey Jason,
You seem to know your stuff. I’m having a similar issue as above posters. I use my email for business, and as of recently, about 50% of my emails have been going through. I checked my mx records, and everything is spot on. I am having a real issue here, as email communication with clients is the lifeblood of my business.
