Hello, I hope you’re doing well.

Nearly a decade ago, a friend of mine helped me set it up so all e-mails I receive at my domain (let’s call it VicVicVic.com) is sent to my Gmail account. Note that I do not have an inbox at GoDaddy in any way. My friend set it up through MyDomain.com, and currently, in the Nameservers section, it reads:
Nameservers: (Last update 6/6/2007)
NS1.MYDOMAIN.COM
NS2.MYDOMAIN.COM
NS3.MYDOMAIN.COM
NS4.MYDOMAIN.COM

MyDomain.com is no longer supporting this feature, so I was wondering if GoDaddy can simply forward all e-mails to Gmail, as well as for me to reply to all e-mails using the according domain name.

Also, I actually have three domains under this same GoDaddy account, all of which goes to the same Gmail account. I would like to have them all set up the exact same way. Please help.

Thank you,
VicVicVic

@vicvicvic

If the domain is registered with us, you can setup email forwarding addresses for it. Information on how to setup forwarding addresses can be found here:

http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/1725/setting-up-a-forwarding-account-in-the-email-control-center

If the domains are not currently using our nameservers, you will need to update the DNS at your current nameservers to use our MX records. Once you setup the forwarding addresses, information on finding the appropriate MX records can be found here:

http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/7590/checking-mx-records-in-the-workspace-control-center

Once you have the MX records you will need to contact your hosting provider, MYDOMAIN.COM in what you provided, and update the MX records with them.

Thanks for the response.

I did this yesterday and the message I have been receiving since then is “Pending Setup: validating MX record.”

If allowing a representative to go into my account and set this up for me is an option, I would like to go that route. Is that possible?

Thanks,
Victor

If you have updated your MX records at your new hosting provider, it can take 24-48 hours for the changes to take effect. It wouldn’t be possible for one of our representatives to update the MX records for your domain at another hosting provider. You may want to check with your current hosting provider, MYDOMAIN.COM, to see if they can make the changes for you.

Thanks again, Gary.

Unfortunately, MyDomain.com somehow messed up my login information (they also messed up hundreds of other people’s) and their representatives do not seem interested in helping me because I am a “paid user” at MyDomain.com. Is there any way I can fix this without going through MyDomain.com? Thanks.

@vicvicvic

You can set your domain name to use our default nameservers and this would set our default DNS records, including MX records. However, any active website on the domain would be removed. If you have an active website, you may want to keep the current settings.

Information on setting the domain to use our Default Parked nameservers can be found here:

http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/664/setting-nameservers-for-your-domain-names

If you have the current IP address of your hosting server, you can set your domain to point back to that server and bring your website back online. This is done by updating the “@” A Record of your domain to point to the IP address of your hosting server. Some information on working with our DNS settings once you set the domain to use our nameservers can be found here:
