It has been 3 days . And I cannot manage to send emails to Hotmail. I got following message..
Connected to 65.54.188.126 but sender was rejected.
Remote host said: 550 SC-001 Unfortunately, messages from 188.121.52.107 weren’t sent. Please contact your Internet service provider since part of their network is on our block list. You can also refer your provider to http://mail.live.com/mail/troubleshooting.aspx#errors.
I write to support they did not respond either. This is really frustrating. How a big firm like godaddy get blocked from Hotmail?
pulover said 2 years, 8 months ago:
Well It seems that hotmail began to accept my emails…But into the junk folder…
Why my mails going directly to the junk folder…I was not having this issue before the blocking problem…

Pulover,
The IP address does appear to be blocked by several lists.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention so that we may work to address it. I have forwarded the IP address and associated block lists to our advanced support so they may investigate and work with the block list providers to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your patience as we work towards resolution.

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at p3plsmtpa01-03.prod.phx3.secureserver.net.
I’m afraid I wasn’t able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I’ve given up. Sorry it didn’t work out.

Go Daddy has a zero tolerance policy on spam and constantly strives to eliminate spam being sent from our servers by investigating every complaint received. Our Email Administrators and Abuse Investigators are constantly working to make sure that spam and abuse are identified and terminated as quickly as possible. For more information on our policies regarding spam, including how we define it, what will and will not be allowed, and the actions we take in case of a violation, please visit our Anti-Spam Policy at the following page:
https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/legal_agreements/show_doc.asp?pageid=SPAM%5FPOLICY&ci=3831
Please understand, we are unable to guarantee that Go Daddy’s mail server IP addresses will not be listed on a third parties RBL list, as those block lists are operated by companies unrelated to Go Daddy.
In the event a Go Daddy IP address is blocked, our support teams are happy to escalate the matter and request for the IP address to be unblocked. However, please understand the third party provider ultimately determines whether to block or unblock the IP address in question.
Thanks!

This seems to be an ongoing issue. I’ve had these block messages before, they went away, now they’re back. My guess is that some customers are using Godaddy for purposes that are considered to be spam by Hotmail and others, (I haven’t seen any blocks on MSN or Live).
This calls into question “how big is Godaddy really”? I can’t imagine having this happen with Comcast or AOL subscribers.

I created a profile in order to post to this topic. Just posted a reply and it does not appear. Is there a lag time before postings come up?
Dave said 2 years, 6 months ago:
How big is Go Daddy really? Well, I cannot expose exact numbers, but can say we have many millions of active email accounts. A lot of customers are counting on us to get it right. The developers, engineers, and IT staff here at Go Daddy pour our hearts and souls into providing a world class email service. It is something we take very seriously.
Hotmail saying “… but sender was rejected.” is different than not being able to connect at all. If Hotmail blacklisted our mail servers, the message would be different, we wouldn’t even be able to connect. “sender rejected” means they don’t like your email address for some reason. Maybe you’ve sent some things they consider questionable? Maybe you’ve been Joe Jobbed?
You could try emailing abuse@godaddy.com and tell them you’re suspicious somebody Joe Jobbed you because you’re having trouble emailing Hotmail addresses. It’s hard for me to diagnose this problem without the email address in question, and you should NOT post it here on this forum. We should take this offline in a support request or an abuse report.

I was wrong. The error message from hotmail, “#550 SC-001″, has a generic description that could include not accepting the connecting mail server.
From http://windowslivehelp.com/solution.aspx?solutionid=7a3ea308-d12e-486d-9005-78e3babb289f
# 550 SC-001 Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation. If you are not an e-mail/network admin please contact your E-mail/Internet Service Provider for help.

So, it’s working fine right now. What happens is some automated system at Hotmail blocks us for due to some trend that triggers a threshold in their system. We detect we’re blocked, and our email admins communicate with the Hotmail email admins and get us removed. We try to get them to whitelist us. We’ve been doing this for years. Luckily, Go Daddy IS big enough to hold some weight, and these remove requests usually go through very quickly.
Steve Garrison said 2 years, 6 months ago:
That makes the most sense that I’ve seen. I’m glad you “backed off” the concept that I, individually, had done something to trigger the block.
Your response also addresses the fact that this has occurred in a cyclical fashion. The unfortunate implication is that it is likely to happen again, and again. Good luck with negotiating a permanent, (whitelisting”, fix for this annoying problem.

Well this is the first time this has happened to me. Not hard to believe that Microsoft would be causing problems like this. Have a competitor piss people off and offer a competitive service. It’s their way.
But how difficult is it for godaddy to have controls in place? throttles and thresholds?
One reason I moved to Godaddy was that I didn’t want the mickey mouse support and downtime. This error is really unacceptable.
