How to add read or return receipts to Godaddy email
kupono said 2 years, 11 months ago:
curious how or if this is possible from within godaddy web-based email.
brian said 2 years, 11 months ago:
Read receipts are currently unsupported in the webmail client. However, as this is a popular request amongst customers it is on our radar for new features to implement.

Is there a way refuse a return or read receipt if they are sent to a godaddy email address? I know there is a way to do so in my desktop email app, but can I make a permanent setting to NEVER send those back to the email sender?
brian said 2 years, 11 months ago:
As there is no standard set for read receipts, everyone that does them more than likely does them differently. For instance in Outlook you are able to setup read receipts, but they only work if the other person also has them enabled. Which really is the downfall of even putting forth the effort into enabling them as a feature.
If the sender enabled read receipts and the receiver has them disabled, then the sender is never going to know if the receiver read the message.
Then there is the possibility that the sender enabled read receipts and the receiver is using a different platform that also has read receipts enabled. However due to not having a standard on how email clients or webmail clients view read receipts, it is then possible that the sender still won’t be able to tell if the receiver read the message.
@Heather: I can’t be specific as I am not sure when this feature will be on our immediate road map, but I am sure that there will be the option not to acknowledge the read receipt request as other clients like Outlook have that option.
There’s a good article on Wikipedia that kind of explains the difficulties of read receipts.

I really need read reciepts for our business email. I hope they add it soon. How do we get notification when/if this happens?
amifphoto said 1 year, 12 months ago:
any word on when this may be available? Being able to ensure that replys, quotes, invoices, etc are received by my clients is crucial to the success of my business.

@amifphoto
At this time, we are unable to offer a time frame for when, or if this feature would be available.

Any ETA on this feature ? Is being 1 year and 3 months since Brian from Godaddy said that it was on their radar for new features to implement. How much longer ?

@unifor
Thanks for posting. At this time, I do not have an update on the support if this feature.

So this is a popular request, needed for business mail (especially when sending remotely through GoDaddy and not an in-office program like Outlook), questions have been posted for well over a year and . . . no update available? GoDaddy was an easy buy for email/web page, etc . . . but perhaps after all this time, it’s time to see what else is available that offers such a basic service.

Thank you for your feedback. @brian explained the difficulties with read receipts, and provided a great link to review. I would invite you to review it, if you have not done so already. In the meantime, I can assure you that this thread, and your post, will be forwarded to our Developers.

As a major email service provider, you are lagging well behind in not adding simple feature.

Jason, I realize that this is not your fault, but this is absolutely ridiculous that you dont offer read receipts. That his pathetic customer service.
