IMAP issues on Mac OSX

I am getting a bit frustrated with GoDaddy product, this is why:
Using Apple Mail I encountered frequent and periodic failures sending and receiving email, also problems deleting mail or syncing and finding that my messages were sent many times to the same recipient.
I must have tried every combination of mail pref settings, prefixes, port numbers. I deleted mail.plist and rebuilt the accounts over and over again. I deleted IMAP accounts, changed router… GoDaddy support went a bit past “turn it off and on again” but could not help, they must have “reset” my account 4 or 5 times. Hours spent with Apple technical was no help either, nor was a 3 hour attendance by a local IT support. I run two fairly recent macs (under 3 years old) all software bang up to date, 2 iphones, 1 ipad.
Eventually I’ve moved to Outlook 2011 for Mac, guess what? I’m getting intermittent send failures, lots of bounces from clients, multiple message sending. Guess what else? I’m seeing similar GoDaddy IMAP problems, unsolved, recorded on forums everywhere I go, from GoDaddy customers using PCs, Macs, android phones, every different mail client, including forums here on GoDaddy.
This is becoming very irritating. I am hosting 10 websites for my clients (please God none of them asks for reliable email). I took all my business away from Webmasters.com a year ago for just half the irritation GoDaddy has caused me. Please can you sort it out guys? this is no way to run a business (yours or mine)

@sesame
This sounds like a definite issue with some type of configuration. I’m not sure how much we’ll be able to effectively troubleshoot via this forum since we can’t really see or discuss any particular settings effectively. I know you mentioned that you’ve contact us in the past, I do believe you are best contacting our Support Team directly since we can troubleshoot this live over the phone.
The major causes here can be network related, client (like Outlook or Apple Mail) configurations, or even an issue with the actual internet connection to our servers. A couple of answers that would be helpful are whether or not this happens on every device you’ve tried and whether or not you have had any of these types of issues while accessing our Web-Based Email system. Have you tried this?

I don’t think this is a problem specific to sesame. I have the same problems with my goddady accounts in Mac OS X Mail as well. I have a couple of friends that I help with computer stuff, and they have the same problems.
Also tried customer support a long time ago and never could resolve the issues. You should really look into this. Make a Google search and you’ll find many people complaining.

Hi quantumorbit, thanks for your post. I eventually solved the problem by routing all my email via Gmail’s incoming and outgoing servers. It was very time-consuming and complex, but I haven’t had any problems since!
