Is there any way to change a setting so that my inbox email stays there indefinitely?

I do not have outlook set up on my Mac, I had trouble setting it up so I log straight onto login.secureserver.net. Could that be the issue?

If messages are being removed from the inbox there would be two Items that I would ensure are not occurring. First would be to ensure any Third Party Client is not set to remove messages from the server, and secondly that there is not Auto Purge setting that is removing them.
