issues with godady imap and Mac Mail

If you are facing similar issue as @moomina, I would advise contacting our Support Team directly to have the account reviewed. It sounds like the account may need to be synced which can be done in a few moments, and will not affect functionality.

A contacted Tech Support as previous poster Jason suggested. It turns out there have been various problems with IMAP in the last week. Tech support was not able to troubleshoot anything with me due to the ongoing problems. However the issues have now stopped as of yesterday lunchtime. I changed nothing at this end, so it was likely a GD issue, which is thankfully now resolved… at least here anyway.

The IMAP problems have been longer than a week. I have had the port 993 TCP/IP disconnection issue for three weeks, at least. Finally, it was down hard and when I called Tech Support said they put a patch in the previous night and it failed. Turns out it was a problem for much longer than a day, as we can all attest. With the great service that GoDaddy generally provides, I cannot figure out why this problem went on so long, and why they just weren’t up-front about it. It’s very frustrating for our users. I spent over 4 hours on the phone with Microsoft insisting it was there issue. They’re the ones who finally told me they’d received over a thousand calls about Outlook and GoDaddy and the port 993 TCP/IP issue. Why can’t GoDaddy just own up to it? Other ISPs put a notice out on their website about issues. I had to spend an entire day putting my PC back together. If I had known, I would have stood by while it was being repaired. What gives?

Is anyone else still having this issue? We are still experiencing this problem and I would love any help to resolving this ASAP.

I was having issues through the end of last month, but they appear to be resolved now. I had to delete my email account and rebuild it. After that worked for a while, I also had to change ports. That helped some, but didn’t resolve all of the issues. Then, with no explanation and no changes on my end, the problem seems to have resolved itself about a week and a half ago.
I agree whole-heartedly with @irenejd. GD’s response to this has been most disappointing. They have been a reliable service provider in the past, but if I needed to renew my hosting services, etc. right now, I’d have a hard time justifying staying with them instead of using a different service provider.

I’m also having problems regularly with my go daddy account I have three with gmail with NO problems! Often on my iMail messages appear and then disappear Probably 20% of the time I can’t send mail from this account. This morning I can’t get mail on my iPad. It says downloading 1 of 19 and then just stops. I’m going to try to delete and reload but that is a pain and two other times when I did this I had to change the ports. It should not be this difficult !

Having this problem, too! I have account set up as IMAP on iPad, iPhone, MacBook Air, & iMac and all used to display the exact same messages. A week ago, iPad stopped syncing properly; yesterday iPhone stopped. Visited Apple Genius bar today and it was determined it’s definitely not an issue with my iDevices. Now, when I check mail, I get “downloading 1 of XX” flashing really quickly, but it never downloads anything. This is highly frustrating! Please fix.

I just switched from pop to imap (upgraded my e-mail with GoDaddy) last night on my iPhone 4s. Pop has been working on this phone for months now and since the switch to imap, I haven’t received not one e-mail. I get all of my e-mails on my laptop (Thunderbird), and any other client that I use, just not my iPhone 4s.
I’ve checked, double checked, and triple checked, all of my settings, ports, passwords, and everything is correct.

Having the same problem on my home iMac. Mac Mail has worked fine for long time, but lately it has been acting up. Can’t download or sync any of our GoDaddy IMAP accounts to Mail. We haven’t changed any of the settings. We can still access our email through the GoDaddy webmail or through my iPhone.
I’ve tried restarting Mail and rebooting the computer. Nothing seems to help.

I am having the same problems with IMAP on my Mac and iPhone. Sometimes it goes offline for a while and nothing seems to fix it. Eventually it comes back online. Shortly, I will need to be relying on this email a lot more, and I am getting very nervous.

Same here, I’ve been experiencing problems with GD’s emails. It started with my POP account. GD tech support basically said it was the Mail client. But like many of you, all my other non-GD accounts work just fine. I then switched to the IMAP setting and it worked for 2 days. Now, the emails are not syncing, both sending and receiving. As many have said, GD’s reliability used to be really good (not to mention the support). Now, it seems both have spiraled downwards. Any help will be much appreciated.
