MX Record – Mail Server
suresh_kumar said 1 year, 7 months ago:
Hi,
I have moved my hosting to rackspacecloud.com from godaddy. Now my website looks fine, but my mail server is not working. The mail server is still with godaddy. I need the MX records to be updated in the rackspacecloud.com, so i logged in into godaddy and saw the mx records for the email, it says “There is no MX record updated”. Now my mails are not working, i am able to send mails, but couldn’t receive mails. Can anyone help me out ?
Thanks
Suresh

@suresh_kumar
You will need to contact your hosting or DNS provider and request that your MX records get updated to point to our servers. Remember that DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate.

Suresh Kumar is lucky. I even cannot view my MX records. I do not know what my MX records or other settings are. Why is my service I take from Godaddy is defected? Don’t I pay money?

I do not understand your issue. The article provided will walk you through locating the correct MX records. Is your domain hosting by a third party?
When following the instructions, if you do not have the server addresses listed on the Domains tab, it would indicate that you have not setup and email address within our network.

Yes, my domain and email are hosted by a 3rd party. I want to transfer my email service to Google Apps. I need to change MX records on Godaddy.com. But I cannot find any page to view and edit MX records.
Godaddy.com is not a user-friendly web site. All Help pages need to be updated. Solutions do not work. You cannot find necessary steps to be taken that you read in Help sections. For example, your link says “Setup Account” but the page I see says “Manage Account”. These are important issues. Users need to grope otherwise.

Okay, one last question: How can I delete Google Apps MX records from Godaddy. I want to host my email on a third party provider. Not on Google Apps, not on Go Daddy. How can I remove Google Apps records?

@lektem
If the domain is hosted with a third party, they will manage the Zone File and DNS. You will need to contact your host for assistance.

Thanks Jason.
But i need the MX records for the loveassurance.com from godaddy.
I went to the Manage Account->Domains->Server Addresses,
i can see the below messages,
Host Names
HOST: m1pismtp01-v01.prod.mesa1.secureserver.net
HOST: p3pismtp01-v01.prod.phx3.secureserver.net
IMAP: imap.secureserver.net
POP: pop.secureserver.net
SMTP: smtpout.secureserver.net
MX Records
Actual Settings:
No MX records were found for loveassurance.com
Correct Settings:
0 smtp.secureserver.net
10 mailstore1.secureserver.net
So, i couldn’t find the MX record from this.
How can i move forward ?
Thanks,
Suresh

@lektem
You’re welcome!
@suresh_kumar
As you posted, these are the correct MX records that your host will need to update to:
0 smtp.secureserver.net
10 mailstore1.secureserver.net

If the domain is pointed to our nameservers, the following article will outline how to edit your DNS:
