I am no longer receiving emails from a Google Groups distribution. I am the group manager, so definitely have not been dropped from the group. I have group address in my allowed senders and preferred senders list. Spam filtering is not turned on. Nothing in Bulk Mail folder. Group distribution is working as others in the group are receiving emails. I was receiving these group emails as of last Wednesday.

@terri128

If you are not receiving the emails, I would verify with Google if the email are being bounced. They will be able to determine this, and have access to the details of why any email may be being rejected.

Same thing happening on our account – Google Groups emails are not coming through consistently after having worked well for about a year. Some do go through though, about 50%, but I cannot see any similarities/differences between those that make it through or not.

There are numerous Google Groups involved and numerous GoDaddy email users – those users outside of GoDaddy are still receiving the Google Groups emails fine.

I am haveing EXACTLY the same problem, and it is not consistent across all Google groups. Google reported my email was “bouncing” but now no bounce is detected. The email from one particular group I administer simple never arrives in my Godaddy inbox.

I too am receiving from one particular googlegroup account intermittently despite having added the sender to my allowed list on GoDaddy. The account concerned is a local community email service and emails are being received OK by other members. The problem clearly lies between Google and GoDaddy.

The googlegroup support documentation says that certain service providers block messages from GoogleGroups, and that they are continually working with providers to “resolve the situation”. It sounds like this is the case with GoDaddy. I had to resort to joining the groups (that I administer!) from another email address just so I can see posts. I created a test googlegroup, and that one worked initially, but then soon joined the other groups in not working. Glad I’m not the only one!

Same exact problem here and same timeframe. I administer several Google groups and am missing lots of emails that are sent to the group list. No rhyme or reason to the ones that get through and the ones that dont. The number of those not coming through is going up.

Keep in mind that there may be IP addresses from their network that get filtered based on the volume, or potential spam, that may be delivered to our servers. This may help explain why some email does arrive, while other email may not. I can assure you that we work diligently to mitigate such sending issues with third parties.

No luck still for us. GoDaddy support, while kind, has not been able to help out. It has already been a month like this!

Has anyone found any tricks they’d like to share?

The only “trick” I’ve resorted to is adding another of my emails to the group. I’m sure gmail accounts won’t be bounced.

Heh, yeah you will get all of your Google Groups messages at your gmail address, EXCEPT your own posts (that’s a gmail thing).

My experiences have mirrored those so far posted. It’s been going on for about 4-6 weeks now. Some (but very few) posts get through to addresses subscribed to GG that are GoDaddy hosted addresses. At one point I subscribed four new GoDaddy addresses to a GG, and all four received the initial messages, but then it became sproadic.

The only response so far that makes any sense (fits all of the “symptoms”) is that GoDaddy is dynamically blocking certain IP addresses due to spam/volume issues. Since GG uses multiple IP addresses to deal with GG traffic, this would explain the varying results. The solution, in that case, if GoDaddy were indeed inclined to resolve it, would be for GoDaddy to whitelist the entire block of GG IP addresses.

I’m having this problem now on a couple of email accounts through godaddy. Unfortunately, the service and support from GD on this issue is not up to their usual stellar service record with me. In short, I’ve gotten nowhere with GD on resolving this. Very frustrating. I know it is not a problem on google’s end, the gg emails show up everywhere else, except for GD email accounts.

Hello JasonP,

Up until about a month ago, this problem did not exist on a wide-spread basis like it does now. So, something has changed, either on Google’s end (more volume, more spam), or on GoDaddy’s end (tighter filtering). It was a pretty-much sudden change, too. It did not happen over a long period of time, like one might expect from being triggered by a steadily increasing volume of mail or spam. One day we were receiving all of Google Groups emails, and the next day not. This certainly does not establish a cause-effect relationship, but it strongly points to a configuration change being made at some point, after which the emails were no longer being delivered to GoDaddy accounts.

I hope that information helps lead you to the source of the problem.
