Outlook 2010 "The TCP/IP connection terminated by the server"

Anybody else having this issue? When I click on my only Go Daddy email account in Outlook 2010 (have four email accounts), I am getting this message. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Yes, this started recently. When I click on my folders in Outlook 2010, I get “Cannot display this folder. The TCP/IP connection was unexpectedly terminated by the server.” I have not changed my account settings, and occasionally I will connect.

From what I was able to research regarding this error, it seems that recently we have had a few users encounter this error. From what I was able to find, most users were able to resolve this issue by either disabling their anti-virus/firewall applications, or changing their IMAP settings in Outlook to not use SSL. I recommend that you try disabling any security applications you may have temporarily to see if this resolves the issue. If not, you can then try to remove the SSL settings from Outlook. Information on configuring your Outlook can be reviewed in this article:

I’m having the same issue… for the second time in 2 weeks. Two weeks ago I submitted a ticket and got a reply that GoDaddy had to resynch my account on the server. It worked fine until today. I’m not about to disable my firewall to get email nor should I if GoDaddy’s IMAP service worked. I hope the figure out their server issues quickly.

Yes, I am having this issue and it has caused a huge waste of time over the past few days…After more than an hour on the phone with GoDaddy Tech Support, I was told that it was a Microsoft Problem, not a GoDaddy problem. When I asked to escalate the issues, I got someone who knew what they were doing and they reset / re-synched something on their side and I was working for a few hours…Then this morning, it failed again. And yes, I have disabled SSL and tried many other things. The bottom line is that ONLY my GoDaddy email fails on Outlook 2010…GMAIL, Hotmail, even my Cable provider email works without a glitch. It’s extremely hard to trust GoDaddy for real business services after this experience.

We have the same issue. Two different computers, both using outlook 2010 and windows 7. The ONLY account that has this issue are TWO separate go daddy hosted IMAP emails. The other IMAP email accounts (Non-Godaddy) have had no issues.
Spent 1+ Hr on the phone yesterday trying all sorts of non-nonsensical tricks the tech came up with disabling SSL. Not a very good short term answer.
One of the comments the tech made while he was researching was that the open ports on the godaddy side (or lack there of) was very unusual.
On a side note, I was on the phone with Microsoft Online Services for a business account question and he said they’ve had hundreds of calls from go daddy customers and everything on Microsoft’s side is pointing back at GoDaddy.

I began experiencing the identical issue yesterday. IMAP access through other IMAP client devices using SSL (iPhone, Playbook) behind the same firewall work just fine. Outlook 2010, no joy any more.
Their servers have been sporadically unresponsive before, but this is unacceptable service.
Unless GoDaddy can get their act together, I will be force my company’s business elsewhere.

I am getting the same message and the same lame response from GoDaddy. Getting mail on WebAccess and iPhone with no problem. C’mon GoDaddy, spend some of your advertising budget on fixing an ongoing problem!!!

I also have this issue, ongoing for about 1 or 2 weeks now.
I wish to use SSL, I will not reduce my security to enable the product to work.
