Problem: mail server imap.secureserver.net is not responding

Anyone having trouble with incoming email on the iPhone? I receive the error “mail server imap.secureserver.net is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail settings.” All settings are as GoDaddy suggests. If I re-start my iPhone, sometimes this problem resolves. But since my Exchange email is not a problem, I think the issue is with Go Daddy, not iPhone. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I would recommend using the following troubleshooting steps:

• Remove the email account from your device
• Restart your device
• Re-add the email account to your device
• Make sure that you try both IMAP ports (143 and 993/SSL on)

I am having the same problem. Have tried everything to correct. I spoke to tech support and they seem to think its an Iphone issue. Spoke to Apple and they are clueless. E-mail works on my Mac as well as webmail but does not work for Iphone. I get the same error message. “mail server imap.secureserver.net is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail settings.” I have reset network settings, verified all e-mail settings, deleted the account and added it again and nothing works. This happened all of a sudden about 2 weeks ago. I thought it was a glitch that would go away. I have been using this account on my Iphone for 2 years without a problem. Please HELP!!!

Thanks for the information. Have you changed the SSL setting and updated the port?

@kohnig Did you ever find resolution to your problem? The same thing happened to me two days ago. I can’t receive mail on my iPhone. Wondered if you were able to find the issue as tech support can’t seem to.

If the issue is still occuring, I would encourage you to contact our Support Team directly to have the account reviewed and synced. This may not eliminate the issue, but it will serve as a first step.

I have been having the same problem for about 1 month now. How many emails do you get in those accounts? If there is too many to sync, then the server may have trouble responding. Move messages in your webmail to a folder, so that when you sync it only have to sync newer emails.

I’ve been having the same issue for the past month. I removed the email account and reloaded it and that didn’t resolve the issue. Then I noticed 2 days later my account said it had been “disabled”. I added back again. I talked to Apple, they even sent me a new phone. I added my go daddy email again. Now I’m receiving emails to my phone but I can’t reply or send new emails. I continue getting a message saying “the recipent was rejected by the server” when I try to send email from my cell phone. I have no problems with other email accounts on my cell phone and I’m able to send and receive emails when I log into my Go Daddy account on my desktop.

after years of successfully downloading emails, my iphone 4 OS 5.1 has failed to download imap emails since Monday 3.19.12. I have deleted and reinstalled the account several times. Emails still load to webmail and to laptop. I have tried SSL on and off and have changed ports. I can send email from this account from the iphone. Other email accounts are working on the iphone. The account accesses the mailserver, show the total of emails that need to be downloaded at the bottom of the screen but then fails to complete the download.

Same problem, using godaddy imap email on iphone4S is hit or miss, has been for months. Sometimes, turning off/on phone seems to make the mail work, other times not. Too many times get message “secure server.net is not responding…..” Very annoying. Have spoken to godaddy and reinstalled imap email, no change. What can we do to make imap email more robust and reliable regardless if whether the base problem is Apple or godaddy? Obviously as seen from this forum, I am not alone.

i have somehow same problem… I’m receiving emails using on my outlook and webmail using my laptop and as well receving on my blackberry, but unable to send emails from outlook/webmail.

on outlook, im receiving:
Task Sending reported error (0x800CCC0F) : ‘The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).’

on webmail:
Sorry, there was a problem sending your message. Please check your network connection and try again.

moreover, i tried to use a different device (desktop) at my office and was able to send emails from webmail…

any suggestions if there is any configuration need to do on my laptop to be able to send godaddy emails?
note that im only able to receive emails on my godaddy account & able to receive/send emails from gmail/hotmail account.
