Sent Items?

I’ve just sent an email to someone using Outlook (setup as IMAP). After sending, couldn’t find the email in the sent items folder. Logged into the webmail and couldn’t find the file in the sent items folder either. (The account is configured to keep a copy of sent emails in the sent items folder)
I then sent a test email from the webmail interface and a copy *was* kept in the sent items folder.
Then, while still on the webmail interface, suddenly a copy of the first email appeared… in the Inbox! (no, I did not copy myself on that email).
What is happening? and why do I find the IMAP interface very slow with the goddady email when it works fine with other IMAP accounts elsewhere?
Thanks for any input you can give. I need to trust the email systems I use…

More than likely this is because the sent folder in your client uses a different name than that of the web based email. Sent vs. Sent Items. Keep in mind that when using IMAP, folders that sync must have the exact same name.

Thanks for the quick response.
Both the webmail folder and the folder in my Outlook are named “Sent Items”…
What else could it be?
Thanks,

Is the issue still happening? Here is information I found that will help you verify that Outlook is saving a copy of the message to sync as well:
Occasionally sent items will stop appearing in the “Sent Items” folder. When this happens, please follow the steps below:
1.Log in to your mailbox in Outlook.
2.Navigate to Tools > Options > Email Options.
3.Uncheck the Save copies of messages in Sent Items folder box.
4.Click OK, then OK to save your changes.
5.Navigate to File > Exit to close Outlook.
6.Open up Outlook again.
7.Navigate to Tools > Options > Email Options.
8.Check the Save copies of messages in Sent Items folder box.
9.Click OK, then OK to save your changes.
Sent items should now start appearing in your “Sent Items” folder.
