I have many email accounts, this is my first through Go Daddy. I can’t seem to get my go daddy email to appear in gmail no matter what settings I use. What is going on here? There doesn’t even seem to be a support article on this, the most basic, common email tool.

I am not quite sure what it is you are trying to do? Gmail is an email provider, much like the email that GoDaddy provides. Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, iPhone, etc, etc are email clients.

Email Provider = provide a service for electronic mail.

Email Client = Programs used to read, retrieve, create and manage electronic mail.

The reason for no support article, is most likely that this is not an issue; as you can’t( as far as I know ) have Gmail retrieve other email account mail.

Does your other mail appear in Gmail? For instance, do you have a Yahoo email address that Gmail, will display?

If you are wanting a program to go get all your email for you, then you would need one of the aforementioned email clients.

Hope that helps! ;-)

Were you trying to forward your emails? If you were trying to forward your emails, this article explains how to setup an email forwarding account:

@betbrett – I have never tried it the way your describing here.

What I usually do for people that want to use their existing Gmail account would be to set up a forwarding account as @Gary_A pointed out. Once this is completed you would be able to add that email address as a “From:” address within your Gmail account.
