Our e-mail incoming/outgoing through Outlook 2003 seems to take a long time to process. Does anyone know if this issue is related to the GoDaddy e-mail server? Some of our employees get a time-out when trying to send e-mails.

@ve,

Typically, the email could be slow due to having a large number of messages to download, or perhaps large attachments on messages. I’m not currently aware of any issues with our servers that would slow your receipt of email.

It could also be possible that your firewall or antivirus may be attempting to scan the emails you are retrieving. You could try temporarily disabling them to see if this speeds up the process.

You could also try entering the time out error you’re receiving into a search engine to see if it offers any other information on what could be causing the issue.

Thanks.

My pop email using pop.asia.secureserver.net is so slow it is totally unreliable now. I have not had any satisfaction with customer support. I have 19Mbit internet speed.

http://network-tools.com/default.asp?prog=express&host=pop.asia.secureserver.net this gives the story.

Even using Godaddy infocenter:

checking ports times out…

Is my 5 year plan a waste of money? Should I move on elsewhere?

A TraceRoute is not a good test for connectivity to our POP email servers. As they are not webservers, they are configured to ignore TraceRoute requests. A Telnet test would be a better test for connectivity. This article explains how you can test your connectivity using Telnet:
