…Unable to establish connection to Gemini: Connection refused
edwardsgroup said 2 years, 11 months ago:
I’m using MS Outlook 2010 with IMAP email domain. I upgraded to MS Office 2010 on the release date last week.
Today, I started receiving (seemingly) random error messages in Outlook with the following complete text:
“Your IMAP server want to alert you to the following: Fatal error: Unable to establish connection to Gemini: Connection refused
Does anyone know anything about this? Or what exactly Gemini is??
ben said 2 years, 11 months ago:
That is an error specific to Godaddy’s IMAP service. It usually only occurs when the IMAP service is becoming overloaded.
edwardsgroup said 2 years, 11 months ago:
Hey Ben, thanks for the explaination.
So this is something that will resolve itself I presume when someone at secureserver expands IMAP capacity?? Or is this specific to my account (i.e. do I need to delete some stuff out of my mailbox even though I have purchased unlimited capacity??)
edwardsgroup said 2 years, 11 months ago:
Oh, is this account specific, or a general overload? Do I need to delete messages from my account even though I purchased the unlimited plan??

Ben, you offer no untechnical explanation or resolution to this issue, if you’re not going to post anything worthwhile, refrain from posting; as your above post offers nothing useful and you didn’t even follow up.
now, I’m also getting this error with outlook 2010 using godaddy’s imap server.
edwardsgroup said 2 years, 11 months ago:
jalljo – I still get this error message sporadically, but not as often as I was. It appears to be something definately on the GODADDY side. Maybe an incompatibility issue??? Who knows.
As far as I can tell, I am receiving all of my email on my Outlook 2010 inbox…but I have not found resolution to the issue. Please post if you find something as I will as well.

Any solution to this “gemini” problem yet? I have called GoDaddy support three times on this issue and no resolution. This is the first time I have been disappointed with their support. Please post a solution if you have one. Thanks.

I finally let the problem go and it resolved itself in a week or two. I have not had the problem in two months or so…go figure!

We are having the same problem. Our unlimited business email accounts are throwing up this error message. Win7, Outlook 2010.

@csh
Hi. If you attempt to resend the message, it should go through on the second attempt. If you continuously receive this message, please contact our Support Team directly so they can take a look at your account specifically. You can reach us here:

Thanks!

It’s not about resending the message . . . it’s about constantly having to clear this error and having users continue to complain about it. We CONSTANTLY get this error on Windows 7 and Outlook 2010! Why doesn’t GoDaddy FIX this error instead of simply telling us to resend messages?!

@knoxbury
I’d be happy to review this matter further. Can you provide us the domain name for the email address you use that receives this error?
Thanks!

I have been experiencing this now for about 3 days. over 25 messages a day like this. @Bailee, my domain is leneva.com. I’d say this is more a systemic issue you have given the diversity of people experiencing this
Dacob said 2 years, 5 months ago:
I too am experiencing this issue now and same as DAA, for about 3 days. I don’t use my mail but 2 – 3 times a week. Have no messages to send nor receive. No point in giving you my specific address as it appears everyone who uses GoDaddy and upgraded to Outlook 2010 is experiencing this issue.
p.s. Vista user here.
