CSS formatting

Why does the Email Designer insert
into my
tags? And, adding insult to injury, then give me a warning that I have CSS in my code? I have stripped out all styles except for a margin style that corrects an issue with yahoo mail. Every time I save changes, the class=”MsoNormal” reappears.

Dear Portlandia,
The “MsoNormal” class is Microsoft formatting rule which we do not use within the Express Email Marketing tool. These tags generally appear if you have copied rich text content directly from Word or other Microsoft applications.
The best solution for preventing these tags from being embedded into your email design, is to paste the content in question into a plain text editor (such as Notepad) and copy it out of here before pasting it into your Express Email Marketing account. This will remove all Microsoft embedded formatting which sometimes hides itself inside of your copied text

Thank you Christopher for clarifying that. I instructed my client to deformat beforehand, but I guess she doesn’t get how to do it. Any chance you guys would be able to add a “remove formatting” button? I’ve seen these used on Sharepoint sites.

Dear Portlandia,
I’m sure something could be added to a future update of our Express Email Marketing to remove formatting from pasting content into the email designer. I will be sure to pass this idea along to our developers. But I would also recommend submitting a request for this directly to suggestions@godaddy.com to be viewed by our developers.

Hello Christopher, two more issues have come up with the css. Because I put in a style to correct yahoo (which doesn’t acknowledge render
tags correctly), the code generated the following:
p {margin: 0em 0em 1em 0em;}
Is this okay to leave in and ignore?
I also was asked by my client about linking to her email newsletter via her website. Is there a way to do this without creating webpages? Should I post this last question elsewhere?
Thanks
Sara

Dear Portlandia,
I’m not real fluent in CSS scripting myself, but I have reviewed this script with our advanced support who has verified with me that the code does appear functional. If this was automatically generated within the Express Email Marketing designer, this should function.
However; if this code is causing a display error, the Advanced Support team is more than happy to investigate this matter further. This will require contacting our Live support directly so we can validate into the account for security purposes before directly accessing your Email Designer.
Our Live Support Department is available 24/7 and can be reached at:

As for your other question regarding the link to the newsletter. The newsletters created within Express Email Marketing are not stored like website pages, so it would not be possible to directly link from a website to display these newsletters. Currently, this would require an actual web page being hosted from the site, matching the design of your newsletters made in Express Email Marketing.
