I bought 2 domain names a week ago and forwarded them to my Ebay store and since then my sales has stopped? I locked both domains.

Hi plansrandy,

There isn’t anything I can see in your post that should cause sales to stop at your Ebay store.

How were people accessing your store before purchasing the domain names? If you haven’t changed that path, I can’t imagine why your sales would drop off.

If you have, that could possibly explain why. Search engines don’t automatically pick up domain names and index them. They send out ‘bots’ to discover web content and it can take time for them to find the new path to your site. So, if someone searches for your product, the search engines will return your old URL (or nothing at all for your site) and the users won’t be able to get to your site through the search engines until they index the new URLs.

Try to do a search for your products on the major search engines (Yahoo, Google, Bing, etc..) and see if they show up. Also, try searching for your new domain names. If they don’t show up, our Search Engine Visibility ( http://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/traffic_blazer/landing.asp?isc=gda433g&ci=9034 ) product may help you.

If the new domains do show up in the search engine results and you can get to your store by visiting those domains, it is probably just an unhappy coincidence. Check your site traffic to see if anyone is visiting.

Good luck!

Paul
