There are two quick and easy ways to see the current version of WordPress you have installed:

1. Simply go to the URL where you have WordPress installed and navigate to “readme.html”. For example, “mydomain.com/readme.html” or “mydomain.com/wordpress/readme.html”. In the center beneath the WordPress logo you will see the current version number displayed.

2. Log into your admin dashboard. You should see a box titled “Right Now” that will show the number of posts, comments etc. At the bottom of that box you’ll see a line that says: “You are using WordPress xx.xx.xx”.

If you find any version that is not the most recent (should be 2.9.2) you should upgrade immediately, either through the wp-admin dashboard or through Hosting Connections

Also, after you check that readme.html file, make sure to remove it.

You don’t want anyone else poking around which version you have.
