Moving Joomla from a folder to root directory

How difficult is it to move Joomla from a folder to the root on the same website? Does the MySQL for Joomla have to be manually copied to the “root” or can it be be moved automatically? How does this work with GoDaddy?

You would not need to move the Database files, all you would need to do is ensure that the Connection String is correct:

Locating Your MySQL Database Connection String

There is an optional setting in its configuration.php file that you may also need to update after the move. Typically this is blank, however, after the move you may simply need to update the address. Other than that the move of a Joomla Site to a different Directory should be pretty seamless.
