Anybody solved "authentication error" with Android 2.2?

Like many other android users, I cannot send email from my Droid Pro. I cannot use the posted solutions, since my android OS does not allow me to select “use password” for my outgoing settings. My account works fine with Outlook 2007, but I cannot get past the “authentication error” no matter what settings I try. Any help? Thanks…

You should still be able to setup email using that version of android. There should be an option in the email settings to configure using a password for your outgoing mail server labeled as ‘Require sign-in’. If you don’t see this available, you may want to contact your phone provider for more detailed support.
