I have a current SSL certificate, but https does not work…
davedaddy said 1 year, 1 month ago:
Not sure what’s supposed to happen. I put down the $69 for SSL and then followed the screens to my “Current Certificates” screen. There I find a reference to my certificate and my purchased domain, and, a status of “current”. But when I type in “https://www.mywebsite.com” I get a browser error telling my connection (to the site) has been reset. I can’t seem to find any articles about making “https” work. Does anyone know what I’m missing? I am using shared hosting.

One reference site you can use to determine if there are any issues with your SSL installation is http://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html. If you continue to receive the error, can you please reply with which browser you are using and your domain name so that we can test this with you?

I am seeing the same issue that you are describing and the SSL appears to be installed correctly. This issue will require an in depth review of your hosting plan, please contact our Support Team and reference this thread so that we can properly resolve this for you.

my website bikersrx.com is in the same situation except that sslshopper doesn’t show that I have a certificate installed. Which was requested on 04/06/2012 21:46:10 GMT and shows current. I know that it can take up to 72 hours, but I was just renewing an existing cert. Any help would be great. Thanks.

@davedaddy
Have you tried to access your website via HTTPS/SSL without using the “www.” prefix to see if it works? I had this problem a while back.

@bikersrx
You’re site appears to have the SSL correctly installed at this time and is resolving appropriately online.

@ Steve I did and at the time it didn’t work either way. The issue self-resolved while I was exchanging e-mails w/GD support and stayed working all week until just today. I called GD was told it was a known SSL server issue (the one my particular certificate is handled on) but could not provide an ETA on fix. Which is a little disturbing I suppose because I have to work with my client on hard answers. But, there it is I suppose.

I am experiencing the same problem referenced above. The SSL certificate says active and I received a confirmation e-mail. However, the link embedded in the e-mail to the “https” does not work, nor does manually inputing the URL. I am using Go Daddy’s “Web-Site Tonight Hosting”. My default browser is Safari 5.1.5, but I also have the latest firefox and am experiencing the same issue. Also, the sslhopper website says it cannot verify it either. Please help. Thanks in advance!

@standlygroup
Can you please reply with your domain name for additional review? Also, as you are using our WebSite Tonight plan, the installation should have been automatic and this may need to be reviewed by our SSL department to determine why it is not being validated. My SSL don’t work.
My domain http://www.abrazando.org appear https in red (google chrome)
The configuration is correct. Please help me!
Thank you

@kamacho2
Your SSL certificate is installed properly, the error you are referring to indicates your site contains non-secure links or elements. For example, if your secure website was https://www.domain.tld and you added an object (an image, script, flash file, etc.) to that page that was located at http://www.domain.tld/image.jpg, you would break the seal.

same problem here, i checked my website http://www.afrolatinegypt.com on SSL Checker & it said (No SSL certificates were found on http://www.afrolatinegypt.com. Make sure that the name resolves to the correct server and that the SSL port (default is 443) is open on your server’s firewall.)

@sky1ak
The IP address your domain is currently resolving to is not a dedicated IP address. You will want to update this so that your domain is resolving correctly to where your certificate should be installed. You can use the steps in this article to locate your IP address, be sure however to utilize the Static IP as both your shared IP and dedicated IP will be listed in your account:
Finding Your Hosting Account’s IP Address
Managing DNS for Your Domain Names
If after updating your A record you still encounter this issue, please contact our SSL department for additional assistance.
