@jdavey

After reviewing the information you provided, the error states that the Message rejected for spam or virus content. This can be caused by several different reasons. The most common reason is that there is a domain name or link in the body of your message that has been associated with SPAM. Another possible cause is a file attachment that was scanned and identified as either harmful or SPAM. To resolve this issue, you can try removing links from the email you are attempting to send.

You can also contact our support teams with the full content of the email that you are trying to send and they can review the email to determine what may be triggering the SPAM filters.

I have the same error when sending emails without any links. Talked to go daddy and was told they would look into and if not fixed in 24 hours I should check back. 24 hour turnaround is terrible. Hopefully they move faster than that.

@donr2

If you are receiving error messages that state “#552 : Message rejected for spam or virus content”, you should contact our support teams with a copy of the email you were trying to send. Our Support Teams would be able to review the email and determine if it was blocked by our system and why it would have been blocked.

Server 2007 hosted here has the same problem.
There was a percent ( % ) character in the subject line. Once I removed this the email went through. I had called tech support, and was told they had to “look into it”.
Blocking my emails to my customers is unacceptable. Then I have to solve the problem for Godaddy. I question the value of the recent changes made to the spam filters on the servers. If they are unable to fix this, I will have to look for another solution.

Just looked at this thread and my issue is that we have email signatures that get rejected by Godaddy filters. Lets face it, they apply a blanket filter that simply isn’t serving their paying clients well. We are a legitimate organisation, in our signature it has our domain name, phone numbers and social media links. Obviously with Godaddy you aren’t allowed to have this in your email. Its really frustrating because they treat the client like a criminal
